Kim Weston

Kim Weston (born Agatha Natalie Weston, December 30, 1939, in Detroit, Michigan) is an African American soul singer, and Motown Records alumna. She was signed to the record label in 1963, scoring a minor hit with "Love Me All the Way" (R&B #24, Pop #88). Her biggest solo hits with Motown were "Take Me in Your Arms (Rock Me a Little While)" (R&B #4, Pop #50, 1965; later covered by The Isley Brothers, Blood, Sweat & Tears and The Doobie Brothers) and "Helpless" (R&B #13, Pop #56, 1966; previously recorded by The Four Tops on their Second Album LP).

Neon Neon

Neon Neon is a collaboration between the artists Boom Bip and Gruff Rhys. They first worked together on Boom Bip's Blue Eyed in the Red Room album, released in 2005. Their debut album, Stainless Style was released on March 18th, 2008 through Lex Records. Their first single Trick for Treat is also out, and can be heard on their myspace page. The album "Stainless Style" was nominated for the 2008 Mercury Prize.

Steve Riley & The Mamou Playboys

Steve Riley and the Mamou Playboys are a Cajun band band from southern Louisiana. The band formed in 1988 and has since recorded 10 albums, nine of which are on Rounder Records. The bands members include: Steve Riley (accordion), David Greely (fiddle), Sam Broussard (guitar), Brazos Huval (fiddle/saxophone/bass) and Kevin Dugas (drums). An additional member, Jimmy Domengeaux played guitar with the band up until his death in 1999. Domengeaux was killed in a motorcycle accident in southwestern Louisiana.

Monolake

Monolake was formed in 1995 as the duo of Gerhard Behles and Robert Henke, although on later albums the group consisted of Henke alone, with Behles focusing his time on running the Ableton software company. Their sound can generally be described as minimal techno filled with nice touch of fine tech dub, although the 1999 Gobi. The Desert EP, which contains a single 37-minute atmospheric piece, is a notable exception. Monolake first released an album and several 12"s on Berlin's Chain Reaction label, then on Monolake/Imbalance Computer Music, which is operated by Robert Henke.

Thomas Brinkmann

Thomas Brinkmann (born 1959) is a highly regarded German producer of experimental music. Although experimenting with records since the early eighties, he gained wide reputation with his re-workings of material by fellow artists Mike Ink and Richie Hawtin released in the second half of the 90s. These productions were made by playing physically modified vinyl records on highly customized turntables with an additional tone arm.

Playing for years, started as a formal "garage rock group", nowadays they are a popular pop group in the Czech Republic. 2) Chinaski (Los Angeles) is also a post-grunge group from California @ myspace.com/chinaskiband 3) Chinaski is also a group from the French Riviera. 4) Chinaski is also a four-piece German Stoner Rock formation.

Dustin O'Halloran

A self-taught pianist from the age of 7, Dustin O'Halloran's personal histories give us some clue to the thickly-woven tapestries of his music: he has lived in LA (where he studied art at Santa Monica College and formed the much-adored Devics with Sara Lov), Italy (in the depths of rural Emilia Romagna) and Berlin. His arresting, heartbreaking music is as much an elegant exercise in nuance and grace as it is a pure, intuitive, personal expression – and here is where we see some explanation into Dustin's quiet rise to notoriety and his continued ascension.

The Mavericks

The Mavericks are an American country music band. The group formed in 1989 in Miami, Florida. The Mavericks won Vocal Group of the Year at the Country Music Awards in 1995 and 1996. They won a Grammy Award in 1996 for Best Country Performance by Duo/Group with Vocals. Their version of "Blue Moon" was featured in Tom Hanks' 1995 motion picture "Apollo 13".
