The Slow Show

The Slow Show are a recently formed Manchester based band with a dynamic, warm, beautiful organic sound that has many references to American alt folk rock but with a distinctive Northern English touch. Their critically acclaimed debut EP Midnight Waltz displays their carefully crafted musicianship and lush melodic songwriting. The diverse instrumentation, in particular the use of a colliery type brass band sound, adds an extra dimension to their music.

Patty Griffin

Patty Griffin, born Patricia Jean Griffin, March 16th, 1964 in Old Town, Maine, is an American singer. She brought out her debut album Living With Ghosts--a set of demos featuring only Ms. Griffin and her guitar--to critical acclaim in 1996. Her sophomore album, Flaming Red, demonstrated a more rocking, full-band sound. The ill-fated Silver Bell album was never released by her record label, however, and the label terminated her recording contract shortly after that. Many of the songs from Silver Bell were re-recorded for subsequent albums.

Ali Farka Toure

Ali Ibrahim “Farka” Touré (October 31, 1939 – March 7, 2006) was a Malian singer and guitarist, and one of the African continent’s most internationally renowned musicians. His music is widely regarded as representing a point of intersection of traditional Malian music and its North American cousin, the blues. The belief that the latter is historically derived from the former is reflected in Martin Scorsese’s often quoted characterization of Touré’s tradition as constituting "the DNA of the blues". Touré was ranked number 76 on Rolling Stone’s list of “The 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time”.

Beth Hart & Joe Bonamassa

Los Angeles based singer-songwriter Beth Hart, known for her raw and powerful blues-rock sound, wraps her expressive vocals around classic soul cover album Don’t Explain—an album that grew out of her friendship with blues-rock guitarist Joe Bonamassa. Produced by Kevin Shirley (Joe Bonamassa, Led Zeppelin, Black Crowes), the album features Hart’s interpretations of ten soulful blues songs, with Bonamassa on guitar and his ace band filling out the tracks.

John Fogerty

John Cameron Fogerty (born May 28, 1945 in Berkeley, California, USA) is an American rock singer, songwriter, and guitarist, best known for his time with the swamp rock/roots rock band Creedence Clearwater Revival and as a solo recording artist. John Fogerty began a solo career, originally under the name The Blue Ridge Rangers for his 1973 LP debut. Fogerty played all of the instruments on covers of others' country music hits, such as "Jambalaya" (which was a Top 40 hit). Prior to performing country & western tunes he released a rock & roll single in late 1973, also as The Blue Ridge Rangers.

The Black Sorrows

The Black Sorrows is a blues-oriented Australian rock band that carries strong influences from zydeco, country and hillbilly music. The band formed in 1983 around singer-songwriter Joe Camilleri in the wake of his principal band Jo Jo Zep and the Falcons dissolution. The band has played host to a revolving lineup of musicians with Camilleri the only constant. The band initially played covers until producing originals, some of which saw moderate Top 40 success during the 80s and 90s ("Chained to the Wheel, Hold on to Me.

Myshkin has been touring non stop for over a decade, became an underground legend in her old home town of New Orleans, has released seven records, and been honored with awards and much critical praise. She has played clubs and festivals from London to Melbourne, and collects more fans worldwide with each gem of a record. 1) Dusted is the dewy-eyed solo pop project of Holy Fuck's Brian Borchedt. It draws on Women's tantalising, elegiac lo-fi moments; 'Candy Says'-era the Velvet Underground; and cavernous Microphones-style production, and a debut album is due through Hand Drawn Dracula / Polyvinyl in summer 2012. Borchedt is based in Toronto, Canada. 2) Dusted is the joint venture of two producers, Rollo Armstrong (Rollo Armstrong, who has produced New Order, Pet Shop Boys, Faithless) and Mark Bates (Guy Ornadel).
