Julia

There are two (and quite possibly more) bands by the name Julia, 1) Julia was an american / band, active in the mid 1990's.
Their style resembled the frantic sound of eastcoast (more specifically DC) emo, complete with octave chords and dark, yet melodic, basslines, thundering and slow drumming and intensly emotional vocals. On many occasions it sounded like Mathew was about to break down. Some members were playing on Lumber. Members:

Burning Bridges

There are at least four Burning Bridges, an American band from southern California, an American band from Albany (New York), a hardcore band from London, and a hardcore/metal band from Sydney. 1) Burning Bridges are an American band from southern California. They released an album entitled "Feast of Fools" in 1996. 2) Burning Bridges are an American band from Albany, New Yok. They existed between 2001-2006.

Rocket from the Crypt

Pledging to never play a venue with a stage, singer/guitarist John Reis formed San Diego's Rocket from the Crypt in the summer of 1990 after becoming disillusioned with the hardcore punk band he was in called Pitchfork. Joining with then-current Rocketeers bassist Petey X and guitarist N.D, in addition to departed drummer Sean and backing vocalist Elaina, Reis and company released Paint As A Fragrance in 1991.

Ithaca

Around the late 60's/early 70's, this English - trio released four similar albums under four different band names: Alice Through The Looking Glass, TOMORROW COME SOME DAY, Agincourt and finally Ithaca. Ithaca's music is a combination of pastoral folk rock, psychedelia and progressive rock with gentle male/female vocal interplay. Their style is dreamy, very laid back and flows in a breezy, unassuming fashion. Lee Menelaus in particular, the female vocalist, projects a sweet (very sweet) serene tone yet not at all sappy.

Stephen Bishop

Stephen Bishop (born 14 November 1951 in San Diego, California) is an American singer and guitarist. He had a major hit in 1977 with the song "On and On"; his other hits include "Save It for a Rainy Day," "Everybody Needs Love," and "It Might Be You," the theme from the movie Tootsie. He has also performed many movie themes, including the theme from National Lampoon's Animal House, which he sang in a falsetto voice.

Tiltwheel

Tiltwheel has been a band comprised of human men for closing in on two decades, and they've only released one full length in this period of time. Spanning multiple decades of pop-punk with a 40-year old singer. A sound highly influenced by Leatherface and PBR, they are the perennial essential Gainesville Fest band. It is their only consistent out-of-California show.

Swindle was formed in 1994 by 4 friends who wanted to create loud fast music and start something new in an almost dormant hardcore punk scene in San Diego at that time. They became very popular on the brink of a nation wide punk explosion and capitalized at home and southern california. They play punk music, but have influences from all types of underground music. They have been described by critics as "a pissed off Fifteen..." and "Balls out, Reckless Abandon, punk....

Adam Gnade

Adam Gnade's (guh nah dee) work is released as a series of books and records that share characters and themes; the fiction writing continuing plot-lines left open by the self-described "talking songs" in an attempt to compile a vast, detailed, interconnected, personal history of contemporary American life. The lyrics of the songs come from prose writing (not poetry or spoken word) and the material is performed live, solo, with Adam on banjo or four-string guitar, generally unamplified, sitting or standing in the middle of the crowd.

Owl Eyes

one: Owl Eyes is Brooke Addamo, a 19 year old Melbourne singer/songwriter who threads elaborate fantasies of escapism in fictional worlds into breezy, intelligent indie-pop songs. Although she was eliminated from Australian Idol, where she was a contestant during season 6, she is now paving her own way up the charts. On her EP Faces, she teamed up with producer Jan Skubiszewski (The Cat Empire, Phrase, Kram , and has been described as a "honey-voiced Melbournite who has a habit of conjuring up wistful, dreamy pop tunes."
