Tyondai Braxton is an American composer and performer and ex-guitarist / singer of American experimental-rock super-group Battles, and as a prominently featured artist on record label Warp Records. He has been actively producing and performing music under his name as a solo artist, as well as collaboratively under various group titles and collectives, since 1998. Lætitia Sadier
Lætitia Sadier (born 6 May 1968, sometimes known as Seaya Sadier, or "The Shah") is a French musician best-known as the singer of the post-rock band Stereolab. Sadier was working as a nanny when she met McCarthy leader Tim Gane at a gig in Paris during the late 1980s. Sadier was disillusioned with the rock scene in France, and soon moved to London to be with Gane and to pursue her career. She had contributed vocals to McCarthy's third and final album.
Stars of the Lid
Stars of the Lid are a band specializing in drone-based ambient music. They list among their influences minimalist and electronic composers such as Arvo Pärt, Zbigniew Preisner, Gavin Bryars, and Henryk Górecki, as well as Talk Talk (both bands have tracks named "Taphead"), post-rock artists Labradford, and ambient innovator Brian Eno. Their music largely consists of beatless soundscapes, composed of droning, effects-treated guitars along with piano, strings, and horns; volume swells and feedback fill the gap of rhythmic instruments, providing dynamic movement within the songs.
Branson Hollis
Branson Hollis is a post hardcore/rock band from France. Consisting of five friends, they formed in early 2009. A few months later, the band released their very first demo (called 'Dyad') recorded at Boss Hog Studio in Northern France. The next year, they wrote and recorded 'Diving Suits Drying', a 5 track EP including critically acclaimed ‘The Jar’ and ‘New Colours, New Shapes’. It was released October 18th 2010.
