Gothic Rock

The Snake Corps came together in 1984 following the break-up of Sad Lovers & Giants (SL&G) the previous year.
Aiming for a harder-edged sound, core members Tristan Garel-Funk and Nigel Pollard advertised in the Melody Maker for the necessary musicians. After many auditions they settled on Marc Lewis and Liam McGuinness on vocals and bass respectively. This original incarnation set about establishing its own sound - recording demos of songs later to appear on the band

Officially there have been over 30 musicians involved with the band. Therefore a historical litany of them all would be impractical. Formed in Los Angeles and fronted by 16 year old vocalist/lyricist Rozz Williams, the band released the first album “Only Theatre Of Pain in 1982. A dark, sinister style of punk rock. The album gained local success. A year later the band completely broke up. Singer Rozz then teamed up with members from the band “Pompeii 99' founded by singer, guitarist, song writer Valor.

Gothic rockers Solemn Novena formed in early 2006, with a mission of creating guitar orientated Gothic Rock, no techno bleepy influences or metal posturing for these guys, oh no. This had to be straight down the middle goth, just like the 90’s had never happened. Or this century either. Sick of going to ‘gothic’ nightclubs and spending the nights looking moody in the corners, secretly wishing they’d play 'Serpent’s Kiss' (so they could display the light bulb changing and apple picking dance moves...

A martial and apocalyptic atmosphere! The band brings us directly to the heart of things. Obsessional, never brutal, Rosa Crvx explore the questions of life and death, of the anguishes and the human's fears. They face the darkness; at the edge of the abyss, their steps progress on an unknown way which exists in the dark and opens to the light when we understand that the only solution is in the acceptance of mysteries.
