There are 5 bands with the name Velveteen 1: A band from London formed in 2012 combining post-punk, surf and shoegaze sensibilities. Sun-kissed music and melody. Velveteen released their debut 'Wasteland EP' towards the end of 2012. 2: A four piece indie rock band from frankfurt/Germany. In April 2008, the band's album Home Waters was used as an april's fools joke by the manager of Moving Mountains, telling it's a leaked version of Death Cab for Cutie's new album, Narrow Stairs. The joke was pretty much successful due to the band's similar sound.

Dead or Alive
Dead or Alive is an influential new wave band from Liverpool that rose to popularity during the 1980s and gained a cult following in Japan during that time. They are best known for the hit singles "You Spin Me Round (Like A Record)" and "Brand New Lover". Before Pete Burns founded Dead Or Alive, he was involved with a Liverpool based band named Nightmares In Wax (no relation to Nightmares on Wax). The band centred around alternative music and released their only notable record, Black Leather in 1979 or 1980.
Martin L. Gore
Martin Lee Gore (born July 23, 1961 in Dagenham, Essex, England) a member of the band Depeche Mode since its inception in 1980. He is currently the primary songwriter, and also plays keyboard and guitar. He is also the backup singer, and sometimes the lead singer. In 2003, Martin released Counterfeit2, a solo cover album follow-up to his 1989 Counterfeit EP. Both feature his takes on other people's material, and he has stated publicly before that he considers himself not the most prolific songwriter, and prefers to keep his own material for Depeche Mode albums.
