There are at least 9 bands named "VIP". 1. VIP is a Finnish Christian speedmetal band. Their VIP has a double meaning. A) It stands for Very Important Person, who they say is Jesus Christ, and B) for Jesus, we all are Very Important People. (see their website or MySpace) 2. VIP is a Ghanaian "Hiplife" group, one of the pioneers of the Hiplife genre. In their case VIP stands for Vision In Progress.
Lordi is a hard rock / heavy metal band from Finland, formed in 1996 by 'Mr. Lordi' of Rovaniemi, Finland. They're known for their monster costumes and lyrical themes. In the beginning of the 1990s, Mr. Lordi played in a small band from Rovaniemi. He left the band when the other members didn't agree with the introduction of theatrical elements and KISS-style rock. Mr. Lordi started producing demos under the name Lordi in 1991 and continued to do so for a few years. The rest of the band members met each other for first time in 1996 in Stockholm, where they had gone to see KISS perform.

There are two bands named Battle Beast. 1) Battle Beast was born in the year 2008 in Helsinki, Finland. Battle Beast represents the traditional heavy metal sound - Bringing you high screams, old school riffs and strong choruses. In one word: Power. In May 2010, Battle Beast had its big opportunity to warm up Ex-Iron Maiden singer Blaze Bayley as they were performing in Finland during the "Promise and Terror"- tour. Battle Beast played in 4 of 5 shows with another metal band Merging Flare on Blaze's tour in finland and the feedback on the gigs was very positive.
Leaves' Eyes is a symphonic metal band with folk metal elements from Stavanger, Norway and Ludwigsburg, Germany. The band assembled in 2003, shortly before singer Liv Kristine was fired from Theatre of Tragedy. Leaves' Eyes currently consists of Liv Kristine (female vocals), Alexander Krull (male vocals, programming), Sander van der Meer (guitars), Thorsten Bauer (guitars/Bass), and Roland Navratil (drums & percussion). Former members include Martin Schmidt (drums, left in 2004), Chris Lukhaup (bass, left in 2007), and Moritz Neuner (drums, left in 2007).
Previously known as Silverspoon, having issued the 'Sink Or Swim' demo under their former name, PAGAN'S MIND came into being during mid 2000. Frontman Nils K. Rue had previously sang for Sunset Strip. Guitarist Thorstein Eugen Aaby had previously been employed by acts such as Deadline and Sunset Strip whilst drummer Stian Lindaas Kristoffersen has experience with Woodstone, King's Quest and Sunset Strip.
Moonsorrow is a pagan metal band formed in Helsinki, Finland, in 1995. Musically, the band incorporates elements of black metal and folk metal in their sound. The band call their sound "epic heathen metal" and try to distance themselves from the term "viking metal". The group's earliest formation consisted of cousins Ville Sorvali (vocals and bass) and Henri Sorvali (guitar and keyboards; also keyboards for Finntroll, Barathrum, and session member of Ensiferum) who released various demos that were much more characteristic of melodic black metal than future releases.
ROYAL HUNT recently released their new - 11th - studio album: "Show Me How To Live". The band once more joined forces with former lead singer DC COOPER to continue the magic of Royal Hunt. To those who are discovering and re-discovering the band, here are the members:
ANDRE ANDERSEN - was born on December 16th in Moscow, Russia. He studied piano since he was 5. He is a mix of Danish and Georgian "royal" blood and is a musical genius who can virtually play any instrument, compose, write lyrics and produce all at the same time.
Dauntless is finnish death metal / thrash metal band. Dauntless was founded in 1991 by Sami Helle (vocals/guitar), under the name on Maniax, shortly thereafter joined by drummer Santeri Salmi and bassist Tuomo Tukkimäki. The first demo "Face The Fact" was released 4 years later, and the second, called "Prophecy...", in 1996. The music was some sort of hardcore-influenced thrash metal. In 1998, the initial band name was changed to Dauntless, and the music begun to seek its current shape.
