There are several bands having gone by the name "Badlands", the most famous being the late '80s hard rock band formed by former Black Sabbath vocalist Ray Gillen. Badlands was a short-lived rock band founded by Ozzy Osbourne guitarist Jake E. Lee and Black Sabbath members Ray Gillen and Eric Singer. Badlands also featured bassist Greg Chaisson. After the first Badlands album, Eric Singer was replaced by Jeff Martin. Eric Singer later played drums on the Greg Chaisson solo album It’s About Time.

Blaqk Audio

Blaqk Audio is an electronic project from Oakland, United States, created by and consisting of Davey Havok as lyricist and vocalist and Jade Puget writing music and programming synthesizers. Both Jade and Davey are members of the band AFI. Blaqk Audio were signed to Interscope Records, their debut album, CexCells, was released on August 14, 2007. The first single from the album is 'Stiff Kittens', revealed by Jade on the BA myspace blog.

Originally formed in Portland, Oregon as a side project of It Prevails in 2006, American Me ended up going full time to pursue a heavier endeavor. William Basinski (Houston, 1958), a New York-based classically-trained clarinetist and saxophonist, specializes in compositions for loops and drones. He began experimenting with compositions for piano and tape that created a melancholy ambience via looped and overdubbed melodies with Variations - A Movement in Chrome Primitive (1980), released on Variations - A Movement in Chrome Primitive (Durtro, 2002 - Die Stadt, 2004), and A Red Score in Tile (1979), released on A Red Score in Tile (3 Poplars, 2003).

There are several artists named Nail. #1: Nail is a Canadian progressive heavy rock/metal band. After spending several years performing with Canadian multi-platinum recording artists Helix, Nail was formed in 2007 by Rainer and Cindy Wiechmann after their departure from that group. Nail presents a sound that is a considerable departure from the ‘80s “Hair Metal” rock sounds one would associate with Helix, having roots and influences more likely associated with groups like Rush, Black Sabbath, and Tool.

Black Pyramid

Black Pyramid hails from Western Massachusetts. The band is currently comprised of Darryl Shepard (formerly of Milligram, Blackwolfgoat, Hackman, Roadsaw) on vocals and guitar, Clay Neely (formerly of Artimus Pyledriver) on drums and David Gein (of gein and the graverobbers) on the bass guitar. The band plays a solid mixture of classic metal, stoner doom, and psychedelic rock, with clear influences drawn from Black Sabbath, Sleep, High on Fire and Electric Wizard.
