Apalusa

Apalusa is the nom de plume of Nottingham musician Dan Layton who can also be seen playing guitar with avant-rock band Souvaris. Essentially a one-man operation, Apalusa explores the gentler side of ambient and drone music with a sprinkling of bad mood residue thrown in for good measure. Apalusa has been known to play live, but prefers to stay inside most of the time. Apalusa is best listened to between the hours of 2 and 4 in the morning, preferably on headphones and with eyes closed.

Bohren & der Club of Gore

Bohren & der Club of Gore are a band founded in 1992 in Mülheim an der Ruhr, Germany by Thorsten Benning (drums), Morten Gass (keys), Reiner Henseleit (guitar), and Robin Rodenberg (upright / double bass). They play a crossover of and , which they self described as an "unholy ambient mixture of ballads, Black Sabbath and down tuned Autopsy sounds". Over the years they have continously reduced and compressed their music to extremes.

Mirah

Mirah Yom Tov Zeitlyn was born September 17, 1974, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and has released a number of albums under the K Records label. She has collaborated with her close friend Phil Elvrum of The Microphones and has also worked extensively with The Black Cat Orchestra. Mirah is the youngest of three children and lived in Bala Cynwyd, a suburb of Philadelphia for most of her childhood. She then moved to Olympia, Washington and attended The Evergreen State College. She is modest and deliberate, prefers privacy to invasion and reconciliation to war.

Flotel

Flotel is the nom de plume of Leigh Toro a resident of Nottingham UK. His debut album 'Wooden Beard' was released on Expanding Records in 2005. the 12"ep 'Bosso Fataka" can be obtained from Arable Records. Leigh is also a member of 'Mountebank' an electronic audio/visual performance collective who can be found playing live at various venues around the UK.
Leigh has also started a label with Morgan Caney called 'Laboratoire Plastique' and the first 7" is ready for immenent release (more details to follow)

Thomas Fehlmann

Now that his work with The Orb has earned him a place in electronic music history, Fehlmann is afforded the artistic license to transcend all previous boundaries. His musicality and experimentalist drive converge with exceptional grace and system-bumpin' appeal. Granular hip-hop grooves and exotic chord structures interface with bold, synthetic finesse, while his housier inner child locks down some precision dance-floor cuts immersed in fluidly manipulated filtration.

Monolake

Monolake was formed in 1995 as the duo of Gerhard Behles and Robert Henke, although on later albums the group consisted of Henke alone, with Behles focusing his time on running the Ableton software company. Their sound can generally be described as minimal techno filled with nice touch of fine tech dub, although the 1999 Gobi. The Desert EP, which contains a single 37-minute atmospheric piece, is a notable exception. Monolake first released an album and several 12"s on Berlin's Chain Reaction label, then on Monolake/Imbalance Computer Music, which is operated by Robert Henke.

For Barry Ray is the husband and wife duo of Carina Thorén (Sweden) and John Chantler (Australia). Carina Thorén has a background in, sculpture, design and performance art. She has also played in the groups Satellite Book and Trigger Happy & Performing

Richard Skelton

Since 2006, UK artist Richard Skelton has been releasing small run documentations of his own musical explorations through his Sustain Release label. These recordings are always exquisitely packaged, in materials and imagery that really invoke the feel of the recordings locked away on the discs.
Place and space play a big factor in Skelton’s creative process, transporting the listener to the environment in which the music was originally recorded.

Transient

Transient names at least six musical entities. 1) Transient are a band from Greenville, SC, United States. Forming in the fall of 2010, they started to gain recognition with their debut EP Alone, promoting their own brand of passionate modern hardcore, with strong and ambient melodic guitar riffs. They have released 2 EP's to date, Alone, a 5 song EP in May 2011, and their latest release We Do Not Lose Heart, a 3 song EP in March 2012. Both of these EP's can be downloaded from the bands Bandcamp page, with a donation scheme implemented for both.
