Persian Risk

Persian Risk was a Cardiff, Wales-based heavy metal band formed in 1979, originally consisting of guitarists Phil Campbell and Dave Bell, vocalist Jon Deverill, bassist Nick Hughes, and drummer Razz. In late 1980, Deverill was headhunted by the Tygers of Pan Tang and replaced by Carl Sentance, a former band mate of Hughes and Razz in Leading Star. New vocalist in place, Persian Risk issued the now highly collectible 'Calling For You' b/w 'Chase the Dragon' 7" in 1981 before sacking Dave Bell's replacement, Alex Lohfink, and soldiering on as a four-piece.

OZ

1. Oz is a Finnish heavy metal band in the 80's. They're not very well known these days but they were among the first and most succesful bands and did some solid groundwork for the Finnish metal scene that blooms today. The band retired after releasing the "Roll the Dice" album, but reunited, located in Sweden, in February 2010. The band has, until this day, released 5 studio albums, 1 EP, Two singles and has appeared on "Scandinavian Metal Attack" splits 1 & 2.

There are at least 14 bands named Mirage. 1) Mirage released numerous cover version megamixes of current pop hits during the eighties. Many of them were produced by Nigel Wright, sometimes together with Nigel Stock, John Davies & Robin Sellars. Over a few beers at a local Richmond watering hole during November 2008, the subject of putting a band together was raised between friends and fellow musicians Ryan Waste and Nick Poulos. The two had been tape trading for many years, delving increasingly deeper into obscure NWOBHM and early Scandinavian and European heavy metal. A life-long heavy metal devotee, Ryan had formed a band in 2003 under the moniker of Immortal Avenger. Former members of Immortal Avenger including co-founder and vocalist Brent Hubbard and drummer Barry Cover would soon be called upon again to start a fresh project.

Quartz

There is more than one artist called Quartz. 1) Quartz came out of the British hard rock hotbed of Birmingham to join the New Wave of British Heavy Metal movement in the late '70s. With a lineup that included John Bonham-associate Mike Hopkins and future Black Sabbath keyboardist Geoff Nichols, they were actually founded under the name Bandylegs but changed when Jet Records showed interest in the band.
