Dajla

Born of a Tunisian father and a French mother, Dajla grew up in the west of France, on the ocean side, listening to her parents' record collection : soul, blues, arabic music, funk and jazz. Her encounter in 1992 with Fishbone's band members was to change her life for ever. A true combination of all she'd always listened to and loved, an astonishing bag of soul, jazz, blues, rock and p-funk. So much passion and energy gave her the strenght and faith she would need to carry on.

Morgan Geist

This New Jersey native was initially inspired by England's take on the sound of Detroit, but eventually tracked techno back to its Motor City innovators. When he began listening to music, however, it was the sound of early-'80s synth heroes like Devo, Severed Heads and New Order alongside early hiphop, jazz and 60's Hindi film soundtracks. Geist released his first 12" (via Dan Curtin's innovative Metamorphic label) while studying at Oberlin College in 1994.

With his new album Art, which was released on 27 May 2011, the multifaceted producer/composer/singer feels that it has all come together. ‘Making albums is a learning process. After every album I felt as if I completed another year at the Benny Sings Music University. And Art is my graduation project. It’s the finale to my ten years of toil. I now have my diploma. It represents my first work as a mature artist – my first real “work of art’’.’
