J.Phlip

In a male-dominated industry, it’s hard to find girl DJs who are as down to earth and talented as J. Phlip. Hailing from the Midwest and a recent addition to the famous Dirtybird crew, J. Phlip’s newest record Rumble Rumble drops this week. This prolific DJ also has remixes coming out on Dotbeep and Alland Byallo’s Nightlight label. Blending the sounds of house and showing off her audio engineering skills, there’s no way one can ignore her original beats that radiate energy and innovation.

Howlin' Rain

This Northern Ca group was formed in 2004 by Ethan Miller of Comets On Fire with Ian Gradek. John Moloney (of Sun burnt hand of the man) joined the group to record the first album, self titled and released by Birdman Records. This has caught comparisons with the early Grateful Dead and the ear of label impresario Rick Rubin. Upon Moloney's departure in 2006 the group was recreated to record "Magnificent Fiend", co-released by Birdman and American Records in 2008.

Doc Martin

The Doc began his mission on the decks back in the summer of 1986. His focus on house music from the land of funk and disco, was triggered while playing the club and warehouse scene in San Francisco. As one of the major players in laying the foundations of a strong West Coast dance scene, Doc has always been a master of mixing the crowd with the music. Neatly avoiding pigeonholing, while embracing a myriad of different styles, his set creates a warm unique vibe of empathy on the dance floor.

Blaqk Audio

Blaqk Audio is an electronic project from Oakland, United States, created by and consisting of Davey Havok as lyricist and vocalist and Jade Puget writing music and programming synthesizers. Both Jade and Davey are members of the band AFI. Blaqk Audio were signed to Interscope Records, their debut album, CexCells, was released on August 14, 2007. The first single from the album is 'Stiff Kittens', revealed by Jade on the BA myspace blog.

Stone Fox

Stone Fox was a female fronted hard rock band formed in the early 90's and created as a creative stage vehicle for glam trollop Jorjee Douglas. They ran through several lineups, seemingly had more image than chops, but kept at it, building up a sizable club draw in their hometown of San Francisco. Jorjee's unyielding scenester sensibility however lead to valuable relationships with rock icons like Exene Cervenka of X and Kirk Hammett of Metallica and garnered slots opening for Cherie Curry, Metallica and Tammy Wynette.

There are at least three bands named Redivider! 1. An electronic musician residing in San Francisco, California. Originally from the Boston area, Robert Baker has been working under the moniker "redivider" since 2002.

Swingin' Utters

Swingin' Utters is an American punk rock band that formed in the late 1980s. Having begun in Santa Cruz, California, the band moved to San Francisco where they are now based. They have been signed to Fat Wreck Chords since 1996. As well as being classed as a "punk revival" band (reminiscent of British 1970s bands such as Stiff Little Fingers, The Damned, Sham 69 and Eddie & The Hot Rods), Swingin' Utters have increasingly shown themselves to be influenced by Irish folk, particularly The Pogues.
