Cat's Eyes

Faris Badwan, frontman for UK indie rockers The Horrors, has a new project: Cat's Eyes, a duo with the Canadian opera soprano and multi-instrumentalist Rachel Zeffira. The group specializes in a glassy, symphonic take on girl-group pop, and they played their first show in December in a pretty unusual place: St. Peter's Basilica at the Vatican, during an afternoon mass "attended by seven high-ranking cardinals," according to a press release. The Snake Corps

The Snake Corps came together in 1984 following the break-up of Sad Lovers & Giants (SL&G) the previous year.
Aiming for a harder-edged sound, core members Tristan Garel-Funk and Nigel Pollard advertised in the Melody Maker for the necessary musicians. After many auditions they settled on Marc Lewis and Liam McGuinness on vocals and bass respectively. This original incarnation set about establishing its own sound - recording demos of songs later to appear on the band

Coffins

Coffins are a Japanese death-doom metal band, formed in 1996 by guitarist and vocalist Uchino. Having gone through several lineup changes in the past, they now consist of Uchino, Ryo (drums) and Koreeda (bass). Their sound is influenced by old school '80s and '90s doom metal, death metal and thrash metal. After several demos they released their 1st full-length album "Mortuary In Darkness" in 2005.

Robedoor is the duo of Alex: slime, knives and distortion, and Notnotfun label head honcho Britt on fire, howls and cloaks... Hmmm... but what does all that mean, sonically? Well, precisely what you might imagine. A blackened drone drenched world of slime and knives and fire, dense clouds of distorted howls, a thick cloak of fuzz and buzz wrapped around the proceedings like a thick, well, cloak! Actually this is a lot prettier than you might imagine. That is, if your idea of pretty includes tons of low end and a world of slow motion doomdrone.

UK duo Spaceheads have released 7 albums on such labels as Merge, BiP_HOp, Pandemonium Rdz. Andy Diagram (trumpet) and Richard Harrison (drums), take their unique sound, based on live trumpet loops, drums and electronics, to greater sonic extremes.
Lazy grooves and thick harmonised trumpet chords; sleazy deep beat brass and crushed up metallic drumbeats. Spaceheads mix the raw emotional sound of breath with the banging of wood on skin, and push it through the blips, crackle and distortion of pixelated electronic noise.

Hamish

Hamish Cowan was the voice of Melbourne band Cordrazine, remembered for their hugely popular 1997 ballad "Crazy". Cowan teamed up with producer/composer Bryan St James in 2001 and together they created rich, emotive electronic-pop. The first Hamish release was an electronic version of U2's "With Or Without You" for the "Looking For Alibrandi" movie soundtrack. More recently the duo supported Dido on her Australian tour. Their debut album "Homesick" was a triumph, an emotion-filled set of ultramodern electronic moodswings, and Hamish's breathless and heavenly voice.

1) This Spanish band came from Gijon, the northern part of the Iberian Peninsula. The members were Alex Cakrul (bass), Alberto Fontaneda (guitar, flute and vocals), Mento Heria (keybaords and vocals), Manda Jimenez (drums) and Rafael Rodriguez (guitar). Their only album "Si Todo Hiciera Crack” (’80) from CRACK is one of the jewels of the Spanish progressive rock.

Dicepeople is a musical project created by Matt Brock. Dicepeople was originally set up in London, UK in the mid-90s as an electronic side project when Brock was more heavily involved with industrial acts Noise Union and Replikator. In 2008, however, Brock transformed Dicepeople into his primary musical project and, with it, aimed to go beyond pure electronic music. The tagline for Dicepeople is 'dark electronica for the body and mind' because Brock's aim is to create music that combines driving beats with evocative and emotionally engaging harmonies and melodies.
