Korpiklaani ("Forest Clan" in Finnish) is a folk metal band from Lahti, Finland formed in 2003. Korpiklaani is the new name of the band previously called Shaman, that was formed by Jonne Järvelä who still remains the mastermind of Korpiklaani. Whilst Shaman recorded songs in the original Saami language, Korpiklaani recorded most songs in English at first, and mostly Finnish lyrics on their most recent albums.

Their music can be described as a blend of viking, folk and significant progressive structures. The band incorporate many folk elements and melodies in their songs, spiced up by the musical inclusion of the island's native folk structure. Their songs include many rhythm changes and complex time signatures.

There are at least 2 bands with the name Forlorn. 1.) Through the band 122-Stab Wounds, Alvarin & C. Worhn hooked up to form the fundament of Forlorn. At this point, Forlorn was still a mere project in the developmental stages. While working on their debut EP.

Forlorn signed a deal with Head Not Found to release 2 CD's. Soon thereafter, Forlorn were joined by S. Aske on vocals and the first EP was completed. The work for "THE CRYSTAL PALACE", their full-length debut, began early after the recording of the EP; and was to be the final release on Head Not Found and with vocalist S. Aske.
