The Tubes

There is more than one group called the Tubes. 1) The Tubes are a San Francisco-based theater rock band, popular in the mid 1970s and early 1980s, known for their live performances that combined music performances with many different unique costumes and in some acts they wore leotards with painted on nipples and pubic hair (neither of which points are relevant for evaluating their artistic/musical/political relevance). They made satires of life in the USA; the media, consumerism, and politics. They were often banned in the Midwest USA.

The Idol Dead

They crawled from the wreckage, blinking and confused – it was the 21st Century and the world need a lift. Fed up with shoe gazing, introspection and everyday rock stars, two men met in a seedy bar in Leeds. Between them they hatched a plan to bring big big riffs, Ebola-catchy melodies and the glamour of confusion back the live circuit. . Looking for partners in crime for this deconstruction of music, they searched the world for like mind souls. They found their bass player in the skeletal underworld of Gaudi’s Barcelona, he’s name was Miguel and he was ready to take up the challenge. .

With that line-up Manes recorded the three demos „Maanens natt” (93), „Ned i stillheten” (94) and „Til kongens grav de døde vandrer” (95). The two first demos was later re-released by the Hammerheart Records sub-label „Unveiling the Wicked” in 98.

LabRat

Once upon a time, in Jersey in the Channel Islands, four pieces of scum, bound together by circumstances not beyond their control, hatched a hideous, diabolical plan to fuck with peoples heads by defiling the conventions of modern music through dischordance, non-existant chord-progressions and irregular tempo changes. Relocating to London and SICK of constantly seeing bands around them pathetically trying to pander to the whim of the masses, our four fuckwits locked themselves in the unused function room of a South-East London pub and went to work...
