Alex Taylor

There are several artists with this name: 1) An American singer-songwriter.
2) A British journalist and radio presenter who works in France.
3) An UK based singer/songwriter. 1) Alex Taylor was an American singer-songwriter. Taylor was the child of Dr. Isaac Taylor and Gertrude Taylor. Taylor was a member of a family which produced a number of singers, the most famous of whom being James, but also includes Livingston, Hugh and Kate. Taylor had two sons, Edward and James. His son James is the namesake of his brother and inspired his brother James' 1970 hit "Sweet Baby James.

The Wreckery

THE WRECKERY are a Melbourne based formed by Hugo Race and Ed Clayton-Jones on their return home from tenure with Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds in Europe and the U.S.A. Robin Casinader joined on drums having played with Hugo and Ed in the art punk outfit Plays with Marionettes. Nick Barker and Charles Todd finished the line up on bass and sax respectively. THE WRECKERY were a big hit on the live circuit and had a large and loyal following.

Axemen

The Axemen is a New Zealand band formed around 1981 in protest against the South African Springbok rugby team tour of New Zealand, a tour which created great controversy, especially as was in contradiction to New Zealand’s obligations under the Gleneagles Agreement. The Axemen played in Chch Cathedral 1981 in response to the Springbok tour. They also played at the protests for homosexual law reform in 1983, with member Little Stevie McCabe being severely beaten up in the Cathedral Square, Christchurch, toilets.

Akasha

At least five bands have used the name "Akasha." The first was a Norwegian spacey, electronic prog band, who recorded one album in 1977. For more information on the band, visit progarchives.com. The second Akasha is a Swedish group consisting of five women. The group was inspired by Sri Chinmoy's poetry and songs, and started to sing and play together in 1982. Since then the group has been giving concerts in Sweden regularly and has also been on tours in Finland, France, Austria, Switzerland and Germany.
