The Pretty Things were a 60's British rock band that evolved from simple rhythm and blues to psychedelic music and concept albums. Originally sounding like a rawer version of the early Rolling Stones sound, the Pretty Things would make their biggest statement in history with the concept album S.F. Sorrow Is Born and the strong set of tunes on Parachute. S.F. Sorrow apparently made quite an impression on Pete Townsend, as inspiration for what would turn out to be Tommy.
From Melbourne, Australia, Beaches are Antonia Sellbach (Love of Diagrams) on guitar and vocals, Alison Bolger (Panel of Judges) on guitar and vocals, Ali McCann on guitar and vocals, Gill Tucker (Spider Vomit) on bass and vocals and Karla Way on drums and vocals. Patrick Best Psychedelic noise/drone/folk band from Richmond, Virginia. They play dense, large-scale pieces of music that radiate inner warmth. They are influenced by Indian raga, the American primitivism of John Fahey, minimalism, and noise music.
Combining never ending songs and a loud, relentless sound with low-end heaviness, wild psychedelic trips and doomrockin' riffs, Toner Low are one of a kind to roam the green fields of Leiden, Holland. In the first four years since their formation in 1998 these doomstoners released a couple of promos, played gigs in Holland and Belgium (2000) with among others Karma to Burn (USA), Isis, Candybar Planet and Lawn and parted with two bandmembers.
