SLOW LISTENER - Snow Failing From A Blue Clear Sky
I haven't concealed my deep love for the beautifully presented Ruralfaune label, but here's where it gets really special. Slow Listener come from Brighton, but you couldn't guess from the music - he manages to produce a shockingly beautiful long-form pieces of hissing, degraded beauty which defies easy comparison although I guess the most obvious link would be to William Basinski, who shares a similar love for the slow and degraded sounds of old tapes.

Model Citizen refers to more than one band: 1) Model Citizen is a rock/punk/garage band from Birmingham, AL. The band features current and former members of The Dexateens, Paul "Wine" Jones and the Parasites. The band consists of Matt Patton (guitar, vocals), Mike Gaut (drums) and Rapid Randy (bass). They have released three albums on a variety of record labels around the US. 2) Model Citizen was a 3rd-wave Ska band hailing from Logan, UT.

Menace Ruine

Menace Ruine came together in Montreal, Quebec, Canada in autumn 2006, when they began composing the songs that would form their debut recording, In Vulva Infernum. While the debut album Cult Of Ruins, took its starting point in fast black metal and noise, the follow-up, The Die is Cast stays true to the metal sound. The tempo has been slowed down, and could be described as heavy down-tempo drone with martial rhythms. The original lineup: Geneviève - vocals, instruments, lyrics;

Akio Suzuki

Akio Suzuki (鈴木昭男) is a japanese artist born in North Korean Pyongyang (1941). At the age of four he moved to Japan, to a town called Aichi. During the 60's ,he began his "self-study events"; for four years he worked as a sound researcher, studying the sound qualities of places in nature and architectural spaces. He investigates places by constructing a topography of sound based on the principle of call and echo.
