Keyboard/electronics player for the Shadow Ring, Tim Goss. If I'd've had to guess what post-Shadow projects would sound like, it wouldn't be what Lambkin's actually done, but more like this. Goss frumps about on some synths & intones doom-filled words in a spectacularly cheerless, beetle-browed accent. There's even a dreary-minded lady assistant who reads a few lines. Recorded slightly hot & then turned way down, to give it just a dash of overdriven edge. Lots of leslie-speaker purr, bells, & quiet beeps underline the mounds of hopelessness.
Distorted clouds of organ, synth, and vibraphone churn above hypnagogic waves of percussion and bass. Referencing psych and prog without the use of guitars, Lumerians create cinematic rock music that is warm, dark, organic and non-retro. Male and female vocals propel songs forward without eclipsing the chimeric ambience of the music. Parallels could be made to the ominous soundscapes of Ennio Morricone, the propulsive rhythms of Can, and the hypnotic oscillations of Silver Apples.

From the ashes of Sod Hauler and Lethe comes Bell Witch, the newest heavy music project for Seattle based drummer Adrian Guerra and bassist Dylan Desmond (also of Samothrace). Bell Witch's bass and drum only doom metal is extremely bleak and extremely heavy, just as it should be.
There are multiple artists named Umberto. 1. Umberto is actually a one-man band, that man being Matt Hill, live collaborator / touring member of Expo '70. While Expo '70 has proven to be especially adept at channelling the heavy kosmiche bliss of prime '70s krautrock a la Klaus Schulze, Tangerine Dream and Ash Ra Tempel, Umberto is equally savvy at conjuring the dark, suspenseful soundtrack-y sounds of Goblin and the like. 1)Polio is a noise rock band.They released a record called Picnic in 1995.
2)Polio was the laptop based offshoot of Peter Wright's solo drone projects between 2000-2003. Originally conceived as a one off recording for US label Freedom From, but expanding to eventually issue a total of four albums, the premise behind this project was to digitally recycle unused and rejected PW recordings using software and occasional live overdubs.
