Starving Weirdos

Starving Weirdos are from northern California's lost coast, a sleepy hamlet surrounded by five hours of wilderness in all directions. They are a wild and desperate style music band. They dig on the quiet and natural beauty that defines their environs and try to carry the same spirit of dignity mixed with brute force and docile felicity as it appears to them daily. No discord and no harmony.

Astral Social Club

Astral Social Club is the pseudonym of one Neil Campbell, a man whose involvement in the UK's experimental music scene has been well documented. Through his work with the Vibracathedral Orchestra and the Sunroof! guise he has consistently amazed and enthralled listeners, not only bringing together a huge legion of fans but also managing to influence countless young acts. This latest work sees the astral traveler moving into further realms and finally putting a capital 'c' on club, bringing in 4/4 beats into the psychedelic fold for a change.

Olan mill

Olan Mill is Alex Smalley and Svitlana Samoylenko and 'Pine' marks the first release for the two as collaborators. The album comprises ten instrumental pieces and between Smalley and Samoylenko we are treated to the sound of the piano, violin, pipe organ and guitar. Other sound sources may reveal themselves to the astute listener, but for the most part, 'Pine' is concerned with big, stirring sound palettes which belie the duo's modest array of instruments.

Wardruna

Wardruna is a Norwegian musical constellation set out to explore and evoke the depths of heathen Germanic wisdom and spirituality. Musically Wardruna has its main focus on the cultic musical language found in the near-forgotten arts of galdr, seidr and the daily acts of the cultic life, mixed with impulses from Scandinavian and Nordic folk music. They formed in 2003 in Bergen, Norway. The album entitled ‘Gap var Ginnunga’ is the first in a planned trilogy that will interpret the runes of the Elder Futhark.

Valerio Cosi

"Italian galactico Valerio Cosi returns with his second album for foxglove, and raises the stakes considerably. He bends his saxophone into a glistening array of aural armaments, channelling the ghosts of giants, these spaced-out, eastern-infused missives. Cosi is a master at bending tones and meshing multiple instruments and styles into a cohesive unit. Layers of guitars, horns, percussion and more create everything from whimsical pop to sprawling, esoteric drone. "The Spiritual Committee" is the perfect homage to the roman gods of yore.
