Oren Marshall

Since performing as a member of the Loose Tubes Oren has worked extensively crossing between classical - jazz - improvised- world music, collaborating with the likes of Derek Bailey, Keith Tippet, the Pan - African Orchestra and the London Philharmonic. Twice nominated for the BBC Innovation in Jazz Award Oren's latest composition. An Introduction to the Story of Spedy Sponda² premiered on BBC Radio 3 in 2002.

1) Born in 1976 in the midlands of southern Italy, Paolo Picone aka Peak, started his musical activites in 1991, as a drummer at the age of 15. In 1995 he began to compose electronic music with samplers, drum machines and midi sequencers. He founded the Mou project in 2001, hailed by the press as one of the most important dub'n' bass live bands in Italy. One year later Mou started performing live at the main italian alternative clubs and festivals like ArezzoWave, Leoncavallo, Officina99, Agricantus, with a tour numbering over 50 gigs in all italian regions.

I've never tried to mask my unbridled desire for the Jewelled Antler Collective - these San Francisco-based forest dwellers have managed to do something quite magical in them there woods, and make psychedelic folk music (free folk, new weird America, whatever) sound simply irresistible. I don't know what it is really, maybe it's the guiding hand of Thuja-member and founder of the whole thing Loren Chasse, who appears here as the spiritual frontman of Softwar.

Han Bennink

Han Bennink (born April 17, 1942) is a Dutch jazz drummer, percussionist and multi-instrumentalist. Bennink was born in Zaandam, the son of a classical percussionist. He played the drums and the clarinet during his teens. Through the 1960s he drummed with a number of American musicians visiting the Netherlands, including Dexter Gordon, Sonny Rollins and Eric Dolphy (he can be heard on Dolphy's final studio recording, Last Date (1964)).

Teho Teardo & Blixa Bargeld

This is a quite unique collaboration, an unexpected one between the italian composer Teho Teardo and Blixa Bargeld, leader of Einstürzende Neubauten and former Bad Seeds. They first met during the realization of Ingiuria, a theatre pièce and right after that they collaborated on a song for a soundtrack, "A Quite Life". That song started the whole process of writing and producing an album together where songs and more experimental pieces could find a common ground.
