Loka

Hailing from opposite sides of the Mersey pond, Loka’s music provides a soundtrack for a world where ambiguous morality and perverted desire fraternize with an uneasy thoughtful calm. By turns seductive, sleazy, unsettling and evocative, Loka’s multi influenced aural excursions tell tales aplenty, but not necessarily with a happy ending.
After early encounters highlighted a mutual passion for soundtrack scores, electronica and late sixties improvisation, Karl Webb and Mark Kyriacou immediately set about working on material that would form the basis of their forthcoming album.

The Bristol based soul kid was classically trained in cello, voice and piano before getting into hip-hop and dance music, and his quirky brand of soul music is deeply refreshing. Snapped up by Gilles Peterson's new label imprint, Brownswood Recordings, 'So Good Today' was voted in the top 5 tunes by listeners on Radio 1's Worldwide show on the strength of airplay alone and 500 copies of a limited edition vinyl release were snapped up in hours.

Bonobo

There is more than one artist with this name: 1) Bonobo is Simon Green, British producer, composer, musician and DJ. With the experimental warmth of '60s french films and the pizzicato flavor of breakbeats, Bonobo established a niche of post-party chill-out. Green debuted in 1999 from Brighton at 18 years old with a track on Tru Thoughts Recordings' When Shapes Join Together compilation. Though tempted by offers from Mute and XL after the official issue of "The Scuba EP" and the "Terrapin" single, Green stuck with Tru Thoughts for the acclaimed debut LP Animal Magic.

A true combination of all she'd always listened to and loved, an astonishing bag of soul, jazz, blues, rock and p-funk. So much passion and energy gave her the strenght and faith she would need to carry on.
