The Ramisco Maki Maki Rocking Horse

"I would describe my music as a collection of melodies, broken thoughts and noise. I guess I'm drifting towards the alternative folk end of the musical spectrum, but there's no real direction behind that. I'm influenced by everything and anything, I think most songwriters are. Whether it's a string of words that comes into your head while you're building a cardboard universe or a melody that suddenly rings out from a guitar as you pluck it's strings, you don't have to search for it, life presents inspiration."

Spider

There are at least seven artists which have used the name Spider: an indie folk singer from New York, United States, a metal band from England, a punk band from Hungary, a lo-fi band from Washington, United States, a ska/rock band from Malaysia, a power pop band from Wallasey, England, a rapper from Mexico. 1. Spider is an alias for Brooklyn musician Jane Herships. Most of the songs on her release The Way to Bitter Lake are hushed, personal songs with elements of shoegazing reminescent of musicians such as Nick Drake and M. Ward.

Armchair Martian

Self described as "Good guys, bad band." Armchair Martian is a Fort Collins, CO based punk-rock group with a strong Country Music influence. They are closely linked to Bad Astronaut and Drag the River, a seperate band, yet which features two current and one former member. The only two consistent members are Jon Snodgrass (guitar, vocals) and Paul Rucker (drums). It is a running joke in the band that their bassists never last long...

The Witch And The Robot

A wise women once told me that if she could live her life again she would spend it making charcoal drawings of the countless yew trees that have been growing for an eternity in Little Langdale. A small valley hidden away on the road to nowhere in the Lake District. This thought flashed through my mind as I lay face down in the mud of a nameless field in Northern France. The year was 1918 and the Great War was coming to a bitter conclusion, no one had won.

Pearl and the Beard

Pearl and the Beard is three voices, one cello, one guitar, one glockenspiel, one melodica, several drums, one accordion, ninety-six teeth, and one soul. Former strangers Jocelyn Mackenzie, Emily Hope Price, and Jeremy Styles were united in the great city of New York. Each had migrated there from a far corner of the nation with naught but food in their pockets and money in their bellies. Each had the same true love. Since then, the three have nested, and their unique brand of brightly melodic songcraft continues to blossom of its own accord.
