Red Rum

St Petersburg-based band Red Rum creates an inventive kind of music that would be easiest categorized as experimental rock. This vague description in Red Rum’s case includes bits of alternative rock, psychedelic breaks, the more adventurous side of indie, electronics and some quirky/surreal elements that seem to come from no outside influence. Formed in 2004, the band consists of 3 members: Ndk (vocals/guitar/electronics), Eugene Byrd (bass) and Gorsky (drums). Their studio recordings including 4 EPs and one album feature Red Rum’s 2004-2010 live lineup.

Deaf To Van Gogh's Ear

The band began in the winter of two-thousand and five when the ebullient Adam and the august Evan - then studying at college together - gravitated towards being in cahoots with one another because of a mutual admiration for the word 'tapas' without knowing its meaning. Some quantity of years later - after much painful struggling against painfully bad songs and excruciating band names - the illustrious Holly became prevalent on the scene. All were besotted by her agreeably killer bass themes.

Yowie

Yowie, a dual-guitar and drums trio from St. Louis, have been stunning audiences with their incomparable barrage of sonic kung fu. They accelerate the progressive-rock rhythmic sensibilities of Ruins and Magma and mutate them with the shrieker side of Big Black and Slayer. The band incorporates many variations in time signature, tempo, and tuning, to create a virtual audio maze, but no matter how complex things get, their compositions remain cohesive and compelling. After releasing their debut album Cryptooology on Skin Graft, they lost a guitarist.

You come home to your drab wee council flat and spend the evening recollecting all the things that have gone wrong in your life. You think "if I die, will anyone notice I'm gone?" Then you realise- you have nothing left to live for. You find a shotgun amongst the detritus of your meagre personal belongings and you put it under your chin. You're about to pull the trigger when you hear something.
