Komputer is the project of two London-based synth-meisters: Simon Leonard and David Baker, releasing on Mute Records. The duo have been writing, mixing and producing together for over 25 years, formerly in I Start Counting & Fortran 5. Their new album is Synthetik. Their sound is rigorously electronic and their tracks deal with such diverse subjects as: Russian cosmonauts, rubbish compactors and mobile phone ringtones. Musical antecedents and influences include Kraftwerk, Giorgio Moroder, Syd Barrett and Brian Eno.

Swedish band. Formed in 1993 by veteran guitarist Roine Stolt as a touring band to support his solo album The Flower King, the band stayed together after the tour and has gone on to become one of the most prolific studio recording units in rock music of their era. After failing to satisfy the performance needs or functioning as any kind of vehicle for letting of steam, due largely to the fact that insects and walls were the only audience, the project left the room and grew legs in cyber space, wondering around Gumtree to find a gang.
