Komputer is the project of two London-based synth-meisters: Simon Leonard and David Baker, releasing on Mute Records. The duo have been writing, mixing and producing together for over 25 years, formerly in I Start Counting & Fortran 5. Their new album is Synthetik. Their sound is rigorously electronic and their tracks deal with such diverse subjects as: Russian cosmonauts, rubbish compactors and mobile phone ringtones. Musical antecedents and influences include Kraftwerk, Giorgio Moroder, Syd Barrett and Brian Eno.

Blackie

More than one artist called Blackie: 1) Blackie real name is Peter Black and is guitarist and vocals for Aussie band Hard-Ons which are a punk rock band from Sydney that originally formed in 1981. They have been called Australia's most commercially successful independent band, with over 250,000 total record sales. In late 2010 He released his debut solo album called "Break Bread With The Mono Brows". 2) B L A C K I E german minimal synth/wave project, 1981

Vocoder

1-New Wave/Synthpop band from Zaragoza, Spain. Founded sometime in the early 80s, they released 2 singles and one LP on Aviador Dro's "Neón Danza" sublabel from 1984 to 1987. 2- Vocoder are an indie band from New Zealand.
3- Vocoder are a dissolved band from Lüneburg, Germany.

Ike Yard

Influenced by their punk upbringing, avant-garde schooling, and no wave surroundings in early 80s NYC,- but not beholden to any genre - Ike Yard managed to create a new sound.
By tapping into equal parts the krautrock experimentation of Can, the Neue Deutsche Welle of DAF and the UK post-punk dub of PiL and Joy Division they created sounds and songs unique enough to catch the attention of Factory Records, who made them their first American signing.

Solitary Experiments

Solitary Experiments formed in 1994 as a collaboration between Dennis Schober and Michael Thieleman, who had briefly collaborated before as 'Plague'. The following years saw occasional live shows and the release of a couple of demo tapes before the song 'God, Where Are You?' from the 'New Violent Breed' compilation in 1999, which would become a hit in their native Germany as well as Holland and the USA. Their debut album 'Final Approach' was released on Machinery later that year.
