Rhythmic, Groove, Technical, Brutal, Captivating, Face Melting are all adjectives that do not even come close to touching the tip of the iceberg when it comes to describing the sound, image and movement exploding right now out of Southern California. The source of this decibel shattering, mind-numbing, captivating phenomenon? Los Angeles metal outfit, VOLUMES. VOLUMES are a collection of seven musicians coming from a wide array of musical backgrounds, ranging from jazz, classical, post-rock to rap and of course metal.

The Safety Fire's debut album title has been revealed. "Grind the Ocean" will be out by the end of 2010. Formed from past members of Oceano, Monsters, and Convoy originally started as a fun summer side project but turned into a full time band because of Delos not returning to school this year. Rooks is trying to fuse hardcore with rhythmic groovy metal in Drop G tuning. Fragment

There are at least four bands using name “Fragment” (Croatian, Swiss, British, and US), and there is also a Serbian rapper named Fragment. Croatian The story began in 2001, in Zagreb Croatia, when Slaven Nikolic (guitar), Davor Vlahov (vocal/guitar) and Darko Demsic-Rudi (bass), together with Vedran Hadziselimovic (drums) formed heavy/progressive band R2 (named after famous Star Wars character R2-D2). They recorded a 5track demo named “Given Away”, (review of that demo can be found on web page: www.cmar-net.org ). Soon after that they stopped playing together.

Dillinger Escape Plan

The Dillinger Escape Plan are an American experimental mathcore band from Morris Plains, New Jersey. The band originated in 1997 after the disbanding of Arcane, a hardcore punk trio consisting of Ben Weinman, Dimitri Minakakis, and Chris Pennie.[1] The band's current line-up consists of Ben Weinman (lead guitar, backing vocals), Liam Wilson (bass guitar), Greg Puciato (lead vocals), Jeff Tuttle (rhythm guitar, backing vocals), and Billy Rymer (drums, percussion).

In Exile

In Exile (India) are a three-piece band from New Delhi, India formed by two friends, Manyu (guitars, bass, drums (earlier), percussions) and Ajay (vocals). Their music can be easily described as a chaotic mixture of djent/progressive and tribal metal, combined with lyrical themes about meaninglessness, insanity, lifelessness and lobotomy. In March 2011., italian drummer Fabio Serra joined the band.

They were formed in 2004 in Thessaloniki, Greece. The line-up consists of G. Chionidis (drums), N. Parastatidis (guitars), P. Bouklis (guitars), T. Deligiannidis (vocals) and A. Roditis (bass). They have released a demo in 2006 entitled This Suffering. Zero Tolerance (UK) magazine awarded them the Demo of the Issue (September/October 2006) and Metal Hammer (GR) magazine awarded them the Demo of the Month (July 2007).
