There are three acts with the name Cleaner: 1. Screamo band from Tokyo Japan, released on oto records. Notably releasing a split with French screamo band Gantz. 2. Cleaner is also the name of a rock band from Los Angeles, California. Formed in 1996, Cleaner was a band that meshed the current hard edged industrial/alternative sound with a warmer, melodic sound. Cleaner was Michael Renninger on Bass, Eric Ediger on Lead Guitar, Ian Brumbaugh on Drums, Kevin Shaw on Rhythm Guitar, and Sarah Meech was Lead Vocals. They disbanded in 2001.

Hailing from Vienna, Austria, mind.in.a.box is an electronic music duo formed in 2002, consisting of Stefan Poiss (music & vocals) and Markus Hadwiger (lyrics) whose "technopop" sound can be described as a cross between futurepop and progressive trance. Their songs feature monologues, snippets of audio logs and conversations that combine to tell a story that spans their albums. There is more than one known artist who once went under the name Covenant: 1. Covenant is a band from Sweden that has furthered electronic body music ("EBM" - pioneered in the 80s by the likes of Front 242 and Nitzer Ebb), futurepop, and synth pop since the early 1990s. 2. Covenant, now known as The Kovenant, was a Norwegian band which has evolved from a melodic symphonic black metal band to industrial metal/harsh industrial on more recent albums. The band changed the name due to a dispute with the Swedish band that shared the same name.

Sex Gang Children is an early group that formed in the early 1980s in Britain. They were a very dramatic band, relying on heavy bass, tribal drumming, sudden mood shifts, a woozy cabaret ready sound that influenced the rise of the later scene, and yet another in a long line of goth singers with an odd, highly dramatic voice. Although the group only released one official album, their singles and various other tracks have been packaged into numerous collections, and they remain one of the better known bands out of the early scene.
