Joe McElderry

Joe McElderry, aged 18 from South Shields is the winner of Series 6 of the X Factor UK. He first auditioned in Manchester where he sang Luther Vandross’ 'Dance With My Father'. He was in the Boys group with mentor Cheryl Cole. His vocals appear on the X Factor Finalists 2009 Charity single (a cover of Michael Jackson's You Are Not Alone) which reached number 1 status in the UK Charts on 22/11/09.

Frente!

Frente! was an Australian alternative pop/rock group, formed in 1991. The lineup featured singer Angie Hart, founder and guitarist Simon Austin, bassist Tim O'Connor (later replaced by Bill McDonald), and drummer Mark Picton (later replaced by Alastair Barden). Frente! burst onto the Australian music charts with the singles "Ordinary Angels" and "Accidently Kelly Street" in 1992. Frente!'s debut album, Marvin the Album was also a success, going platinum in Australia.

Gabriel Yared

Gabriel Yared (Arabic: جبرائيل يارد) (born 7 October 1949) is a Lebanese-French composer, best known for his work in French and American cinema. Born in Beirut, Lebanon, his work in France included the scores for Betty Blue and Camille Claudel. He later began working with American film directors, winning an Oscar for his score for The English Patient and a nomination for The Talented Mr. Ripley and Cold Mountain.

The Springfields

There are two artists named The Springfields. 1. The Springfields were a British pop-folk vocal trio in the early 1960s, who had success both in the UK, USA and Ireland, but are now best remembered as the launch pad for singer Dusty Springfield. The trio formed in 1960, when Mary "Dusty" O’Brien joined her brother Dion O'Brien and Tim Feild, who had been working as a duo,"The Kensington Squares". Dion became Tom Springfield, and Mary became Dusty Springfield. Feild was later replaced by Mike Hurst.

The Blackbyrds

The Blackbyrds was a and fusion group, formed in Washington, D.C. in 1973. The group was led by trumpeter Donald Byrd and featured some of his Howard University students: Kevin Toney (keyboards), Keith Killgo (vocals, drums), Joe Hall (bass guitar), Allan Barnes (saxophone, clarinet), and Barney Perry (guitar). Orville Saunders (guitar), and Jay Jones (flute, saxophone) were later members of the group. They signed to Fantasy Records in 1973. They are best known for their 1975 hit "Walking in Rhythm", which received a Grammy nomination.

Wild Strawberries

There are two bands called Wild Strawberries: 1) Wild Strawberries is a Canadian pop band made up of married couple Roberta Carter Harrison (vocals) and Ken Harrison. Interestingly, the former is a physiotherapist and the latter is a doctor. They have released a number of albums, their latest being Deformative Years in 2005. The band's early releases were produced independently, leading to the creation of the Strawberry Records label. After the successful Bet You Think I'm Lonely album, the band partnered with Nettwerk for the production of their albums.

Allison Weiss

Allison Weiss is an American guitar player and singer-songwriter from Brooklyn, NY. Weiss first picked up a guitar at age 14 in an attempt to become a punk rock star and impress her high school crush, and though the teenage romance died after one short month, her passion for music lived on. After moving to Athens, GA in 2005, Weiss spent the next five years in and out of various pseudo-relationships which fueled the fire for one infectious breakup song after another.
