Gary Wilson

Hailing from Endicott, NY, Gary Wilson is an archetypal figure in the "outsider music" movement with other artists like The Shaggs and Jandek as its most notable members. Gary Wilson first came onto the scene in 1977 with "You Think You Really Know Me," which he recorded alone in his parents' basement. Using synthesizers and spinning disturbing tales of obsession with different women, Wilson's record had no effect on the mainstream but its cold detachment and electro-funk aesthetic was a hit with the college radio stations.

Junko

There are 2 (two) Junkos: 1. 'Junko' is the solo nome de plume for Junko Hiroshige, who is also vocalist/instrumentalist for the seminal Japanese noise band Hijokaidan. Junko's solo and collaborative work is characterised by her distinctive high pitched, screaming voice. Junko has released a handful of records under her own name. These include Sleeping Beauty (2002), a solo project that showcases Junko's voice a cappella, with no accompanying instrumentation. In 2004, she released a collaborative album with noise artist Mattin, called Pinknoise.

Circuit des yeux

Lafayette, Indiana native Haley Fohr possesses a gift—either that or she’s wholly possessed by a spirit derived from extra-terrestrial origin. Then again the music/cacophony she makes as Circuit des Yeux is borne from the most natural, organic and downright homely elements one could use in the exigency of lo-fi, bedroom-conceived art, namely the earth’s percussive qualities and her god-given, god-forsaken voice.

Anna Homler

Anna Homler (Los Angeles, 1948) is a vocalist, performance artist and composer, who takes bits and pieces of phonetic clusters from several different languages and combines them into a language that is all her own. She calls this technique "Linguistic Alchemy." She started out in 1980 with performance art, then around 1985 began to focus on the human voice. Anna travels the world with her music, singing with a wide array of different musical groups. She often combines these events with performance art and with found-object sculptures.
