There are several artists worldwide currently performing under the name Overlord, as well as several defunct groups that have used the name:

1. overlord is an indie pop band from Brooklyn, NY. Overlord is on an indie label, Storm Tower Records, and has released 5 full-length records and 2 EPs. The band consists of: Tris McCall, Matt Houser, Sarah Brockett, and George Pasles. The most recent full-length album, In Soviet Russia, My Heart Breaks You, was released on April 1 2011, and spent 3 months on the CMJ Top 200 charts. Site: www.overlordusa.com.

Scutum Crux was founded in 2003 by Demiurge (Sturmtiger, Necrosadistic Goat Torture) and led as a studio project when several songs, filled with an influenced power and reason, have been written, mixed and recorded.
The first promo material has been released, containing 3 of these songs. A proper band was established in 2011, after another damned soul have joined, Svarth (Actum Nocturnum, Death In Veins) who injected even more energy into the entire project.

2. Winter Solstice (Australian Folk Band) 1. Winter Solstice was a Christian metalcore band from Lynchburg, Virginia. They were signed to Metal Blade Records and have disbanded, as of July 2006. Some of the former members have come together with members of Everything Falls Together and formed a new band, Ghost Of A Fallen Age. The lead singer is now in the band We Were Gentlemen

Soundgarden is a Seattle rock band who helped to define the sound that came to be called grunge. Despite starting years earlier, and having a sound that more closely resembled Black Sabbath or Led Zeppelin than their contemporaries, they are usually considered one of the "big four" of the '90s Seattle grunge bands, along with Alice in Chains, Nirvana and Pearl Jam. The band was formed in 1984 by Chris Cornell (vocals, and originally drums) and Hiro Yamamoto (bass), to be joined later by Kim Thayil (guitar) and Scott Sundquist (drums).
