Girls On Film

Girls on Film refers to two different groups of people. One is a new wave, all-girl band from Florida. The other is a film discussion podcast hosted by Heather Stewart and Suzanne Keilly. Hailing from the capitol of Florida, GIRLS ON FILM are an all-female 4-piece whose music is one part lipstick synth-pop and one part icy cold new wave. Their fashion fueled lyrics and high energy stage antics have earned them a reputation as one of the hottest new wave acts out of the Southeast.

Guernica

There is more than one artist with this name. Here they are described in order of popularity on Last.fm. 1) Guernica (ゲルニカ), presumably named after the famous painting Guernica by Pablo Picasso, this Japanese trio from the 1980s specializes in music in a retro 1920's and 30's cabaret style. Their early recordings are primarily electronic (using synthesizers instead of traditional acoustic instruments) but their later works are performed by a live orchestra.

Capital Cities

L.A.’s Capital Cities arrive with a little sonic head rush called ‘Safe and Sound’, an easy, breezy, beautiful slice of effervescent electro-pop that even comes complete with a massive ‘trumpets-in-da-club’ bit that absolutely kills it. (Neon Gold) The song has catchy indie stylings and features the beloved vintage Juno-106 keyboard that gives the production such a comforting retro vibe. (Arjan Writes) It's a scorcher bound to make your dance-infused taste buds sizzle. The music swarms with outside-of-the-box tendencies, jam-packed full of life, energy and unusual yet fantastic sounds.
