Turboweekend

Turboweekend formed in Copenhagen in 2006, as a lovechild between the sexier parts of the city's underground rock/pop, and the increasingly popular and diverse electronic club scene. They signed their first deal with CPH Rec in 2007 and released their debut album ’Night Shift’ in Denmark that same October. An album that nominated the group for Best Act of The Year in the two biggest award shows in Denmark (P3 Gold and Zulu Awards), and which featured the single Into You, a 'Can’t Miss Hit' on P3 (Ugens Uundg

The Cripples

Keenly aware that new wave has its roots in ‘60s garage rock, the Cripples fuse proto-punk rawness with synthesized noise. Formed by Greg Heino (vocals, guitar, synthesizer) and Ross Marshall (synthesizer, vocals) in a high school basement in the mid-‘90s. Nearly a decade before resurrecting new wave sounds would be considered cool in the indie-rock world and commercial in the eyes of A&R suits, the Cripples were outcasts, gigging at small Seattle punk clubs in 1996 even though they were clearly not punk rock.

The Penelopes

There are at least two bands using the name The Penelopes: From Japan 1) The Japanese twee-pop outfit the Penelopes was essentially the work of singer/songwriter Tatsuhiko Watanabe; the group debuted in 1992 with the album In a Big Golden Cage, followed a year later by Touch the Ground. Although by this time the band was primarily a Watanabe solo project, he maintained the Penelopes' name for 1997's Kiss of Life; A Place in the Sun, issued that same year, was the first LP issued on Watanabe's own Vaudeville Park label.

There are more artists using the name Ortega. 1) Every so often a band emerges as if from nowhere armed with a depth of song writing that is simply stunning. Enter Ortega… The seven piece from Cannock in the Midlands have been doing what bands do – learning their craft (both live and on record), becoming big names on the local circuit, selling out their first self-made demos and building up to their debut single through Co Star Entertainment set for release in late 2007.

While still with Miyavi, maya and other support members also played live shows as LM.
