Vex

There are eight artists by the name of Vex. 1) Vex hailed from South East London / north west kent area and formed in the very early eighties, the 'Sanctuary' 12" and 'It's no crime' on the Mortarhate compalation 'Who?What?Why?When?Where?' were their only releases.
Sanctuary was issued on Fight Back, a sublabel of Mortarhate, run by the people of Conflict. Vex also played gigs with Conflict, so they were more associated with the anarchist punk scene than the Batcave fair. But contrary to most anarcho-punk bands from that time, they were not influenced by CRASS or Conflict.

Allies

There are more than one band named Allies. 1) Allies is a Christian rock band. They released six albums during the 1980s and early 1990s. The three most notable band members were guitarist Randy Thomas, formerly of the Jesus music group Sweet Comfort Band,Keyboardist Sam Scott,formerly of Darrell Mansfield and Psalm 150, and vocalist Bob Carlisle. Bob went on to pursue a solo careeer and recorded the hit song "Butterfly Kisses", which was co-written with Randy. * Randy Thomas : guitars, vocals, bass (on first release)

The Volt

The Volt are an indie/folk rock/pop four piece band from Bath. The current line-up, formed in the summer of 2007 is: Sam Brookes: Vocals/Ryhthm Guitar/Harmonica

Phoebe Phillips: Bass Guitar/Bvox
Domenico Bartolo: Drums Their influences include: Foals, Maximo Park, KT Tunstall, The Police, Paul Weller and Bloc Party The Volt won MTV's 'get seen, get heard' unsigned competition in 2008, recieving national air-play and recognition from Futureheads guitarist Ross Millards and The Subways frontman Billy Lunn.

The Shorts

The Shorts are a hardcore punk band from Southampton, UK. They were formed by Mike Fox (guitar / vocals) and Tony Suspect (drums / vocals) in 2009. A demo was recorded with Kevin Borrett (ex Pilger) playing bass.They then recruited Neil Clelland (ex Intent / Pilger) to play guitar and the "Skinned Alive" EP was recorded in 2011. Alan Marshall (ex Whole In The Head / Chinapple Punx) joined. Influences: Minor Threat, Limp Wrist, The Stupids, 7 Seconds. Joan Jett

Joan Jett (born Joan Marie Larkin on September 22, 1958 in Wynnewood, Pennsylvania) is an American rock singer and guitarist. She was the guitarist for the rock group The Runaways from 1975 to 1979, after which she released two solo albums - 1980's "Joan Jett" and 1981's "Bad Reputation" - before forming her own group, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts. "The Hit List" (1990), a covers album recorded by Joan Jett and The Blackhearts, was labeled as being by Jett alone.

Polecats

Polecats was a rockabilly revival band in the late 1970s and early 1980s. The band formed in 1977. The original line-up was Tim Worman (a.k.a Tim Polecat, vocalist), Martin "Boz" Boorer, (guitarist and vocalist, later of Morrissey's band), Phil Bloomberg (bassist), and Chris Hawkes (drummer), and originally played under the name "Cult Heroes." Finding difficulty persuading promoters to book them on the Rockabilly circuit with a name sounding "too punk", they adopted Hawkes' suggested band name The Polecats.

Nice & Smooth

Nice & Smooth is an underground East Coast rap duo from New York, composed of Greg Nice (Greg Mays) and Smooth B (Daryl Barnes). Together, they made several albums in the late 1980s and early 1990s to little popular appeal, though their second album (Ain't a Damn Thing Changed, 1991) was a commercial success that included a minor hit in "Sometimes I Rhyme Slow". "Hip-Hop Junkies", which featured a sample from The Partridge Family's "I Think I Love You" was also a hit, and once performed live on Keenan Ivory Wayans "In Living Color".
