When I was in junior high I began discovering music that struck me, as opposed to music that felt familiar (like my parent’s music). This was mostly Metallica (the first song I heard of theirs was “Enter Sandman”, so this was after they had already become “mainstream” and blown up), NWA (which I memorized completely verbatim)...
Coockoo is a young and eccentric, alternative rock band, based in Moscow. Internet success in January 2009 with their provocative single; Groupies’ Anthem (F.U.C.K) brought instant popularity within the Russian underground music scene. During the proceeding year they have built on this success playing regularly at some of the finest music venues in Moscow. The year has continued positively with rotations on national radio and performances being screened on Russian Music TV channels.
There are two artists called Darren Tate, A DJ/Producer from London, and an ambient/drone artist, also from the UK. 1. UK DJ / Producer
Darren Tate is an international producer and DJ born in London, England. As a classically trained musician, Darren has earned his reputation as one of Europe's leading producers, having worked with a wide range of international artists and writers. He is also one of the worlds most successful dance producers, having had huge international hits with the likes of Jurgen Vries, Angelic, Orion, Citizen Caned and most recently DT8 Project.
There are two bands named Spasm. One is an industrial band on Invisible Records consisting of Mark Spybey of Dead Voices on Air, Eric Pounder of Lab Report, Martin Atkins of Pigface and Curse Mackey of Evil Mothers. Moskitoo is Sanae Yamasaki (b. 1978), a sound-artist and graphic designer residing in Sapporo, Japan. She began making music in 1997 playing guitar and small casio keyboards in various bands in Sapporo. In 2005 she began writing, playing, and singing under the moniker Moskitoo. "Drape" (2007, 12k1041) was her first full-length release. A 4 track EP with remixes shortly followed, featuring remixes by Frank Bretschneider, Mark Fell and Taylor Dupree, who was also the mastering engineer on "Drape".
From The Caretaker's Official Website: The Caretaker project began in late 1996, undoubtedly inspired from the ballroom scene in Stanley Kubrick's "Shining". The first release played and extended this theme of altering 1920's and 1930's ballroom music creating an eerie and haunted soundworld. Subsequently the sound has become darker and often more abstract over time, moving away from the initial idea of a haunted ballroom into territories involving the mind and its abilities to recall memories.
Collarbones is a long distance collaboration between Adelaide’s Travis Cook and Sydney’s Marcus Whale, beginning in 2007. The ‘Waiting for the Ghosts’ EP was released in June 2009. 'Tiger Beats', a covers and remixes mixtape was released in January 2011 on bandcamp. Debut album 'Iconography' was released in March 2011 on Two Bright Lakes.
"MillionYoung is a pseudonym for South Florida's Mike Diaz. Mike's music is a refreshing form of Chillwave, with a lot of bright synths, dreamy dripping nostalgia inducing backdrops and the occasional guitar. He released his first EP in 2009, entitled "Sunndream". His second EP was released in early 2010, entitled "Be So True".
Nanook of the North are a four-piece alternative indie band from Cardiff, UK. The band formed in the early months of 2012, releasing their debut, self-produced EP in the following September on a 'pay-what-you-want' basis via their Bandcamp. http://www.nanookofthenorth.co.uk/

Opium Dream Estate (O.D.E.) is a musical project based in Paris, France, founded in november 2006 by singer/multi-instrumentalist Sébastyén D. (also involved Orchid's Children, The Funeral Warehouse, Saison De Rouille, Vostok Station and running Seventh Crow Records). Though Opium Dream Sound’s sound is rather difficult to describe as it is filled with many influences (ethereal, goth, neofolk, indie, neoclassical, etc.), it can be identifiable as (mainly) ethereal and neofolk. Sébastyén D. defines Opium Dream Estate's music as ethereal dreamwave.
