Sons of Arqa

Suns of Arqa creator and mentor Michael Wadada has been continuously investigating the supernatural potential hidden in the Classical Raga structure of the music of India. His mission – to mix the cerebral and illusive cosmological vibrations of Raga, with the mother earth rhythms of Niyabinghi drumming that were surfacing in England in the guise of Dub Reggae. Dimitri

n the international super-dj stakes, Dimitri (1967) is up there with the best of them. In 1996, he was voted #8 in the highly regarded Muzik Magazine's International DJ of the Year competition. Dimitri starts his musical explorations at the tender age of 16, mixing funk and hip hop on a Dutch radio station. In 1988, right when the second Summer of Love breaks out, he makes his first appearances at Holland's world wide renowned temple of house, RoXY, where he starts his own Friday club night in 1990, seeing cues at the door stretching as far as 100 metres.

Acid Mothers Temple & The Melting Paraiso U.F.O.

Acid Mothers Temple & the Melting Paraiso U.F.O. (and subsequent offshoots) is a Japanese psychedelic band founded in 1996 by members of the Acid Mothers Temple soul-collective. The band is led by guitarist Kawabata Makoto and early in their career featured many musicians but by 2004 the line-up had coalesced with four core members and frequent vocal guests. The band have a reputation for phenomenal live shows and releasing frequent albums on a number of international record labels...

Richard Wigglesworth

Richard Wigglesworth is a Bristol based electronic musician. He makes Cinematic Acid music. Richard started making music in the 1990s. early four track experiments paved the way for electronic music based on beats and soundshaping. The music was within a techno framework but with break beat overtones. Richard performed two gigs in London at the turn of the millennium - firstly at the acclaimed Sprawl night (London's underground playground and test-tube for new sound) and then at Moon Palace near Kings Cross alongside Pilote and DJs from expanding records.

OWEN TROMANS & THE ELDERS

Owen Tromans grew up in The Black Country and led John Peel favourites San Lorenzo before pursuing a solo career that has seen him release several acclaimed albums and tour extensively, playing with the likes of Brian Jonestown Massacre, Idlewild, Plush and The Autumn Defense. Owen has also appeared on records with Devendra Banhart, Mercury Rev, Bardo Pond and members of REM and Sonic Youth, most notably “Chamber Music” on Fire Records. The Observer singled out Owen’s contribution to the compilation for its “Steely acoustic guitar with lashings of romantic sentiment.”

Charalambides

Charalambides are a musical group originally from Houston, Texas, USA and lately of Austin, Texas. Formed in 1991 by Tom Carter and Christina Carter, adding Jason Bill and Heather Leigh Murray, they have followed in the footsteps of other Texas music artists such as The 13th Floor Elevators, The Red Krayola, and Jandek. Their music contains elements typical of psychedelic music such as reverb, extended jamming and the use of found sounds, as well as elements of noise, avant garde, folk, and drone music.
