Kimmo Pohjonen

Kimmo Pohjonen (b. 1964) is one of the most respected and in-demand musicians and performers in Finland. An accordionist of exceptional ability and imagination, Kimmo's musical history goes back more than twenty years in rock, folk, avant-garde, improvisation, classical, dance and theatre music projects. In 1996 he embarked on a solo career with his solo 5-row accordion project, featuring extreme and original compositions, live loops and effects, a dynamic and animated stage performance, orchestrated lights and surround sound.

Moonsorrow

Moonsorrow is a pagan metal band formed in Helsinki, Finland, in 1995. Musically, the band incorporates elements of black metal and folk metal in their sound. The band call their sound "epic heathen metal" and try to distance themselves from the term "viking metal". The group's earliest formation consisted of cousins Ville Sorvali (vocals and bass) and Henri Sorvali (guitar and keyboards; also keyboards for Finntroll, Barathrum, and session member of Ensiferum) who released various demos that were much more characteristic of melodic black metal than future releases.

Callisto

There is more than one artist with this name. 1) Callisto is a Finnish experimental metal band (Turku, Finland 2001-present). Trying to fit the post-metal outfit Callisto into one single category hardly does the band justice. Founded in 2001, the sextet play a timeless, downbeat yet melancholic style of music that is rich in nuances, draws from numerous sources and doesn't really have any obvious fellow creatures or points of comparisons.

Hexvessel

Hexvessel is a psychedelic folk-rock band that was founded by Englishman Mat "Kvohst" McNerney, vocalist for blackmetal bands Dødheimsgard and Code. He moved to Finland in 2009 and was joined by a coven of musicians from Tampere that feature members of Galacticka and Dark Buddha Rising. Fusing late 1960s and early 1970s English folk and psychedelia with a love for Finnish nature, pagan mysticism, folklore and the occult, they play a witches brew of acoustic balladry and heavy tripped-out atmospherics. Kiki Pau

Kiki Pau is a lovable exception in today’s music scene. The band has been labeled an over-trendy indie group from Helsinki’s Punavuori, but Kiki Pau is in fact as organic as a rock group can be in today’s world. Influenced by 1980s and ‘90s alternative rock and 1960s and ‘70s classic pop, Kiki Pau gathered a wealth of positive attention from both critics and music bloggers two years ago with their ironically named debut "Let's Rock".

Their initial period of activity was between 1989 and 1993, when they released two demos - "Jesus Spawn " and "Penis Perversor " - and an EP titled "Angelcunt (Tales of Desecration) ".
