The story of Tea for Two began in 1985 when Michael Schumpelt (piano, recorder) and Oliver soerup (guitar) founded the band as a blues-folk-jazz duo. After a couple of gigs Schumpelt and Soerup recruited a bass player and finally, in 1987 with the addition of a drummer and singer Stephan Weber the classic 5-piece line up was complete. Following the release of their first album "Dream or Reality" in 1993 Tea for Two played a huge number of concerts (highlights of which were support shows for Fish and Arena).
Heron is a British folk band from the 1970s who originally put out two albums on the Dawn label. During the post psychedelic era for folk music many bands fused together delicate melancholia with a simple folk basis. Heron like Waterfall, some Magna Carta, and Dulcimer fall into this area.
Linda Perhacs is an American psychedelic folk singer-songwriter, who released her only album "Parallelograms" in 1970 to scant notice or sales. The album was rediscovered by record enthusiasts and grew in popularity with the rise of the New Weird America movement and the Internet. It was reissued on CD and 2-LP in 2005, and again in 2008. Native of Mill Valley, California, United States, Linda Perhacs spent many years away from the music industry (mostly spent as dental technician).
Dave Cousins (born David Joseph Cousins, 7 January 1945, Hounslow, Middlesex, England) has been the leader, singer and most active songwriter of Strawbs since 1967. He has performed frequently as a much-in-demand acoustic duo with Strawbs guitarist Brian Willoughby. His first solo album, Two Weeks Last Summer, was released in 1972. His next two albums "Old School Songs" (1980) and The Bridge (1994) were by Dave Cousins & Brian Willoughby.
The Strawbs started existence as The Strawberry Hill Boys, playing American bluegrass in London. They eventually shortened the name and started playing original, and more English, music, first in the realm of folk-rock, then adding electric instruments and leaning towards progressive rock. Lead singer Dave Cousins has been the only constant in the band. Sandy Denny was an early member of the band before she joined Fairport Convention; Rick Wakeman also did a stint for two albums before moving on to Yes.
There are at least two artists with the name Rainman: 1. Rainman is the name of a soloproject by Frank Nuyens, a former member of the Dutch group Q' 65. He recorded the album 'Rainman' in 1971, a collection of songs influenced by British folkrock and songwriters from the American Westcoast. 2. For years, Rainman has been building serious skills on mic and decks alike, cementing his presence within the Brisbane and Sydney hip-hop scenes.
According to Classic Rock Magazine (issue 122), Manning is the project of Guy Manning, who was also a member of The Tangent.
