Artist Type:

Josephine Foster

Over the course of just a few years, Colorado native Josephine Foster has captivated audiences & critics alike through a magnetic patchwork of recordings ranging from broken spirited balladry as one half of Born Heller, fiery psych rock gestalt with her rock outfit The Supposed (All the Leaves Are Gone) to the voice of an outsider folk siren (Hazel Eyes, I will Lead You) and her latest collection, A Wolf in Sheep's Clothing. The one constant is the utterly overwhelming strength and seductive unease of her voice & the bravery of an iconoclastic spirit.

Tickley Feather

Tickley Feather is Annie Sachs. She grew up in rural Virginia but has been living in Philadelphia for 5 years now. She has been using her time learning to write and record her own music as part of her nights spent at home, adapting to being the single mother of a young child. She is a firm believer in doing what feels right, and in her recordings she really uses her solo status to great advantage.

Miles Benjamin Anthony Robinson

Until recently twenty-five year-old Miles Benjamin Anthony Robinson has been one of Brooklyn’s best-kept secrets, but with the release of his debut album and the help of some of his better known friends (and neighbors) that seems likely to change. In a recent interview with ‘Another’ magazine Kyp Malone of TV on the Radio professed, “Miles Benjamin Anthony Robinson is my favorite songwriter right now.”

Their first full length album, Hymns for a Dark Horse, was released in Spring 2007 on Burly Time Records. Their fluent, characteristic style, marked by wonderfully skilled songcraft and bucolic imagery, has since earned them several positive reviews.

François Virot

François Virot is a rare bird, who belongs to that endangered kind of musicians that are so devoted to their art that they never care to spend some time at home. You may not know it yet, but in the last few years, this hyperactive musician originating from the city of Lyon (he also plays the drums with his brother Charles in the ballistic noise pop trio Clara Clara) spent more time on the road than your three favorite bands put together… And together with the zillions of Clara Clara records, our boy found the time to fiddle...
