Shakespear's Sister were pop/rock duo consisting of former Bananarama member Siobhan Fahey and (from 1989 - 1996) singer/songwriter/guitarist Marcella Detroit (real name Marcy Levy). Detroit had previously performed with Eric Clapton, released a solo album in 1982, and has since released more solo material as well as a blues album with the Marcy Levy Band. Fahey was born in Dublin, Ireland, and Detroit was born in Detroit, Michigan, USA, hence her stage name.

Ed Askew, a gay man, cut one of the best and most obscure LPs in the original ESP Disk’s vague rock/folk/freak series, issued eponymously and since reissued as Ask the Unicorn, before apparently dropping off the edge of his world. Years later, thanks to detective work by - naturally - Mr Clint Simonson of the De Stijl Records imprint, it turned out that not only was Askew still breathing but he had actually recorded a follow-up to his ESP Disk in 1970 that had lain in the can for decades.

Motion Figures are 4-piece art-pop band from Worcester, UK. Key and Em began writing songs together under the name Cobweb Dilemmas in 2005. Dan joined on drums in 2007. As a three-piece they released the 'Name The Pirates' EP in late 2007. Halfway through the recording of 2009's 'Natural's Not In' EP, the EP's producer, Luke Elliott, joined on keyboard and guitar. With the release of 'Natural's Not In' in April 2009, the band decided to change the band name to Motion Figures.
