A lot of bands meet as kids at school. Others come together after an over-enthusiastic conversation about music at some random party. Aluna Francis and George Reid however, met through the internet. While their online encounter is more MySpace than Match.com, it was in fact through a mutual respect for each other's work that led them to go on to form AlunaGeorge. Now together for just barely a year, the talented duo have been churning out a series of infectious mixes which fuse Francis' sweet vocal harmonies with the hushed electronic stylings courtesy of Reid.

Jenny Wilson
Swedish Jenny Wilson makes elegant and sophisticated pop music with hints of synthpop. Her self-produced solo debut, Love & Youth, on which she also plays every instrument, was released to much critical acclaim in 2005. Music journalists ranked it as one of the best Swedish albums of the year. As a teenager in the early 90s, Jenny Wilson - born in 1975 - originally wanted to become a writer. At that time she discovered PJ Harvey's Rid of Me, an album that inspired her so much that she decided to give up on her writing career and focus on music.

The Weeknd is a Toronto-based R&B singer named Abel Tesfaye. Abel started uploading songs to YouTube in 2010 and in March of 2011 he dropped his first mixtape, House of Balloons. In August of 2011, he dropped his second mixtape, Thursday. His third mixtape, Echoes of Silence, was released on December 21 2011. The Weeknd takes his ambivalent emotional tenor and stretches it out, building a whole worldview from it. The Internet
There are at least three artists known as The Internet: 1. The Internet is a hip-hop/soul duo and one of many sub-groups within the Los Angeles, California hip-hop collective OFWGKTA. It consists of Odd Future's sound engineer, audio mixer, and live DJ Syd Tha Kyd on vocals and Matt Martian of The Jet Age Of Tomorrow on production. The duo released their debut LP, Purple Naked Ladies, digitally on December 20, 2011.
