Tissue Culture

Tissue Culture are a seriously noisy bunch of young lions from Newcastle. They haven’t been around a long time, but they’ve already built up an impressive TishCult following. What’s more exciting is that they seem to be getting better with each deafening, thrilling live show. Their first release on Tiny Lights, Saint Waleric was released on October 29th 2012, and celebrated with an awesome party at The Cluny 2 on Halloween. SmithBellHendazPottaReed

Sex Gang Children

Sex Gang Children is an early group that formed in the early 1980s in Britain. They were a very dramatic band, relying on heavy bass, tribal drumming, sudden mood shifts, a woozy cabaret ready sound that influenced the rise of the later scene, and yet another in a long line of goth singers with an odd, highly dramatic voice. Although the group only released one official album, their singles and various other tracks have been packaged into numerous collections, and they remain one of the better known bands out of the early scene.

Artist Type:

Black Math

With their drum-machine-powered, infectious fuzzed-out goth, Black Math bring to mind the Jesus and Mary Chain (or, if you ask them, Siouxsie and the Banshees), but with more layers to pick apart. Xina’s vocals float like the open sky above dark clouds, and she plays the cello! Jimmy’s synth and sharp drum patterns bring a shadowy dark-wave element, while Andrew’s wall-of-sound guitar harkens back to the aforementioned 1980s shoegazers.
