There are multiple groups named Ashes. 1) Ashes was a Washington, DC-based post-hardcore band that featured Brian McTernan of Battery fame and Elena Ritchie on vocals. They existed in the early to mid 90s. Ashes released two EPs on a now-defunct California label named Network Sound entitled Ashes and Hiding Places. Bethlehem is a dark metal band from Grevenbroich, Germany, formed in 1991 by Jürgen Bartsch and Kläus Matton. Before begetting Bethlehem, Bartsch and Matton used to play in a German Thrash metal band called Morbid Vision. Much of the themes in their lyrics revolve around sickness, morbidity, suicide, death and madness that may to some extent be personal to the band, though they are very difficult to understand even for German speakers because they make absolutely no sense whatsoever.

Further info: 2) Heartless is a hard rock/hair metal band formed in Tampa in the late 80s and performed together for several years. Through the later 90s, the band transformed and became 'Kenne McGey and Lefty' and are still active in local Tampa scene.

1. Veil is a Greek Death Metal band formed in Karditsa, Greece in 2003. The band consists of the following members George E (drums, vocals), Chris Sven (guitar, vocals), and George Sven (5-string bass).
Their first demo "Forest Oblivion" was recorded in summer 2005, consists of five (5) songs, accompanied by an intro and an outro, with a style of music that fuses black, doom, and death metal.
Their first E.P. "Blinkers Define the Spasm" contains five (5) death metal songs and it was self-released on September 2009.
