Drowning the Light

Following the split of Australian black metal band Baal Gadrial in 2003, vocalist Azgorh created Drowning the Light. Four demo tapes were recorded and given extremely limited distribution, being given out only to close friends. From 2003 to 2009 Azgorh has recorded 10+ demos, 10 full-length albums (5 of which were released in the same year: 2007) and material for a number of split albums under the Drowning the Light moniker.

Black Rain

For French glam/hard-rock band, see Blackrain. There are at least eight bands with the name Black Rain:

1) Black Rain, the NYC post punk / industrial group began in '89 with Stuart Argabright, Bones, Shin Shimokawa , Thom Furtado and Dave Vulcan, emerging out of the ruins of seminal post-punk outfit Ike Yard. After playing CBGB's, The Bank, Tompkins Square Park show commemorating the Riots there and the last GG Allin show at the Gas Station on LES ( Lungcast cassette ), this phase of the group went on to work in the Studio with Roy Mayorga (Thorn / StoneSour ) on drums and guitar riffage.

Animus

There are at least five artists under this name: (1) A rapper from Germany, living and acting in Heidelberg. (2) ANIMUS is a world fusion music & dance ensemble based in the Philadelphia, PA area. Led by Bill Koutsouros, Animus has been creating unique original music since 1994.
Animus is an instrumental group of culturally diverse musical concepts and traditions from ancient to modern alike. The groups has influence which comes from various different cultures such as: Greek, Blues, Middle Eastern, Jazz, Spanish, Funk, Latin, Rock, Indian, Jewish-Klezmer and African.

Carpathian Forest

Carpathian Forest (previously known as "The Childmolesters", then "Enthrone") emerged with the demo tape "Bloodlust and Perversion" in 1992. In 1993 the band released a second demo: Journey Through the Cold Moors of Svarttjern. The following year, Forest signed to Avantgarde Music and recorded their first EP, Through Chasm, Caves and Titan Woods in 1995, followed by the debut album Black Shining Leather in 1998.

Common Grave

There are two bands called Common Grave: One Death Metal act from Germany, and one Black Metal act from Italy. Common Grave Death Metal:
Common Grave was founded in spring 1999 and recorded one year later with “M.D.K” the bands first demo. After some line-up changes, the release of their debut “Dehumanized” marked the start of the band. Common Grave had found their musical style: a mixture of traditional US death metal, mixed with modern elements in a powerful soundclothing.

Leviathan

At least 18 artists have used the Leviathan moniker: 1) Leviathan, aka Wrest, is a one-man black metal project from San Francisco, California. The band was brought to life in 1998 and was put on hold in Oct. 2007 due to a legal dispute with the record label. Wrest brought the project back in January 2008 to release the latest album. Wrest plays every instrument found in Leviathan's music; guitar (electric + acoustic), drums, bass, synths, ebow, and vocals.
