Coffins are a Japanese death-doom metal band, formed in 1996 by guitarist and vocalist Uchino. Having gone through several lineup changes in the past, they now consist of Uchino, Ryo (drums) and Koreeda (bass). Their sound is influenced by old school '80s and '90s doom metal, death metal and thrash metal. After several demos they released their 1st full-length album "Mortuary In Darkness" in 2005.

"Altar" is a true collaboration album between Sunn O))) and Boris that is a result of both bands conceptualizing, writing and recording the album together as one entity. Both groups have stepped outside their previous sounds and created a wholly unique album that stands on its own unique ground. There are elements of each group's trademark sound within the album but true to each group's progressive and experimental aspects, “Altar” moves into a completely new dimension. Mournful Congregation is a funeral doom metal band from Adelaide, Australia, founded in 1993.
The music revolves around melodies on electric and/or acoustic guitar and is further characterised by minimal drums, deep growled and whispered vocals. Main lyrical themes are personal spirituality, mysticism and depression.
In 2009, the band performed live for the first time in their 15 year existence, with 4 Australian shows, and another 17 shows throughout Europe to promote their 2009 album "The June Frost".

The band's core members consists of Stephen O'Malley (Khanate, Burning Witch, SARIN, Teeth of Lions Rule the Divine, Lotus Eaters, Ginnungagap, Thorr's Hammer, Fungal Hex, KTL, Æthenor, Gravetemple) and Greg Anderson (Goatsnake, Thorr's Hammer, Burning Witch, Teeth of Lions Rule the Divine, Brotherhood, Engine Kid, FALSE LIBERTY, Burial Chamber Trio, Ascend).
1) diSEMBOWELMENT was an Australian death/doom metal band from Melbourne that was formed in 1989 after the two piece grind band Bacteria featuring drummer Paul Mazziotta and guitarist/vocalist Renato Gallina changed its name and musical style. With Dean Ruprich from Necrotomy providing bass, the band released its first demo, "Mourning September" in 1990. The band played very slowly (and occasionally with great speed), and relied equally on the atmospheric effects of droning guitars and constant riffing.
