[1] Belgian pioneers of and -. Also known as The Klinik. See also Dive, Sonar, Monolith. In 1985, Verhaeghen joined forces with two other bands, Absolute Body Control (with Dirk Ivens and Eric van Wonterghem), and "The Maniacs" (Sandy Nys) to form one "super group" Absolute Controlled Clinical Maniacs. This rather unwieldy name was soon dropped in favour of the shorter name "The Klinik". Nys soon left the band to form Hybryds, followed in 1987 by van Wonterghem, leaving The Klinik as the "classic" duo of Dirk Ivens and Marc Verhaeghen.

Haujobb (not to be confused with the demogroup of the same name) formed as a trio in 1993 in Germany, with B. Junemann being the third member to the current duo of Dejan and Daniel. Their first release was on cassette only, the now hopelessly out of print Drift Wheeler. This embryonic issue brought them to the attention of Off Beat records, who released their first CD, Homes and Gardens, later that same year.

The Pain Machinery

After experimenting with electronic music since the 80's Anders Karlsson released his first cassette as The Pain Machinery in 1992. The original idea was to mix the raw energy of Punk and the sound exploring possibilities of Electronic and Industrial music, inspired by such diverse artists as SPK, Cabaret Voltaire, Sex Pistols, DAF, Public Enemy and Skinny Puppy among others. TPM utilises obsolete analogue electronics, a wide array of filthy distortion boxes as well as cutting-edge technology to produce the missing link between rhythmic noise, punk and EBM.
