Atomic Kitten were an English girl group, first established in 1997 in Liverpool. The original line-up featured, Liz McClarnon, Kerry Katona and Heidi Range (now in the Sugababes), but Range decided to quit and was replaced by Natasha Hamilton. Jenny Frost (formerly of Precious) replaced Katona in 2001. Hamilton, McClarnon & Frost were the final and most successful line-up of the group. Atomic Kitten had three UK number one singles; Whole Again, the fourth best selling single by a girl group of all time; Eternal Flame and The Tide Is High (Get the Feeling).
1. Palace is one of the many names used at one point or another by Will Oldham. Palace came after he named himself Palace Brothers for the first LP, before Palace Music, and a few years before the world knew him as Bonnie 'Prince' Billy. Black Wire were an English indie rock band from Leeds, UK. The band members were Daniel Wilson (Vocals), Si McCabe (Guitars, backing vocals), Tom Greatorex (Bass) and Danny Prescott (Drums). Black Wire formed in January 2003 and played their first gig within a month of forming, at the Leeds club night Pigs. They then went on to tour excessively playing with such bands as Bloc Party, The Libertines, HARD-Fi, The Cribs, Kaiser Chiefs and The Futureheads.
Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds is the solo moniker of former Oasis guitarist and lead song writer Noel Gallagher. The band originates from Manchester, England, and includes former Oasis session pianist Mike Rowe, drummer Jeremy Stacey of The Lemon Trees and percussionist Lenny Castro. The band also varies guests on their debut album such as the Crouch End Festival Chorus and The Wired Strings.
The Honeyz were a London-based R&B girl group formed in 1997 that originally consisted of bandmembers Heavenli Abdi, Naima Belkhiati and Célena Cherry. In 1999 Heavenli Abdi left the group and was replaced by Mariama Goodman before returning to the band in 2000 after Mariama left. Before their split in 2002 the Honeyz released seven singles, 5 of which were Top 10. In 2005 they band reformed but member Naima Belkhiati left shortly after and was replaced by Célena's cousin Candace Cherry. Mariama Goodman briefly returned to the band after Heavenli Abdi (now Roberts) left due to pregnancy.
John Watts is Fischer-Z's frontman and has also released some material under his own name. Another band he lead was The Cry (John Watts). John Watts is from a family of singers. He progressed through school and college bands inspired equally by the late 60s Trojan catalogue and great maverick artists, from Alex Harvey to Lou Reed, Captain Beefheart to Tom Waits and the ‘Hunky Dory’ David Bowie. Watts moved to the point where punk, art-wave and reggae crossed over.
MUTEMATH is an alternative rock band which formed in New Orleans, LA, United States in 2003. They consist of Paul Meany (vocals, keytar, keyboards, samples), Roy Mitchell-Cárdenas (bass, percussion), Darren King (drums, samples), and Todd Gummerman (guitar, keyboards, backing vocals). Since MUTEMATH released its first EP in late 2004 and hit the road in 2005, their inherent nature has challenged limitations and expanded parameters.
