Ungdomskulen
Trio from Bergen, Norway. Often mentioned as a mixture of Fugazi, Frank Zappa, King Crimson, Black Sabbath and Sonic Youth. It's noisy, it's progressive, it's funky. Debut record Cry-Baby on label Ever Records as a satelite label of K7!/VME with great critics in british music press such as UNCUT and KERRANG (see below). The norwegian band have also released a 7" triology. The bands 2nd album, Bisexual, released in March 2009. The front cover is created by George Underwood who has co-operated with Gentle Giant, T-rex, Mott the Hoople, Procol Harum and David Bowie.
Emperor
Emperor is an influential Norwegian black metal band that represents a synth laden, progressive yet brutally aggressive and chaotic part of the genre, something quite different from the minimalism of other originators of the Norwegian black metal sound (e.g. Darkthrone). The band was formed around the core members Samoth (Tomas Thormodsæter Haugen) and Ihsahn (Vegard Sverre Tveitan) of the death metal band Thou Shalt Suffer and bass player Mortiis (Håvard Ellefsen) in Notodden, Norway, 1992.
Tine Thing Helseth
Tine Thing Helseth (phonetic pron.Tin-eh Ting Hel-set) (Norwegian pronunciation: [ˈtiːnɛ tɪŋ hɛlsɛt]; born August 18, 1987 in Oslo) is a Norwegian trumpet soloist specializing in classical repertoire. Helseth started to play trumpet at the age of 7 and studies at the Barratt Due Institute of Music in Oslo. Her teachers have included Heidi Johanessen (Norwegian National Opera Orchestra) and since 2002 Arnulf Naur Nilsen (Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra).[1]

Apoptygma Berzerk is a Norwegian ebm/futurepop/synthrock musical group, formed in 1989. The current lineup includes Stephan Groth (vocals, programming, guitars, samples), Brandon Smith (guitars) and Thomas Jakobsen (drums). The group has achieved moderate commercial success with a unique brand of gloomy, danceable gothic synthpop, winning awards and Top-10 spots in Germany and Scandinavia. Nils Økland
Nils Økland is a Hardanger fiddle player from Norway. In spite of being associated with the traditional Norway folk music scene, on his 3 LPs ("Blå Harding", 1996; "Straum", 2000; "Bris", 2004) Nils writes all the tunes himself (unusual for the genre) and presents a distinctive style heavily influenced by free jazz.
Enslaved
Enslaved is a metal band from Bergen, Norway. Their style has changed over the years. Originally being an old-school black metal/viking metal act, they now perform a more experimental form of progressive black metal with folk influences. The name was inspired by an Immortal demo track, Enslaved in Rot. Enslaved was formed in 1991, by Ivar Bjørnson and Grutle Kjellson. Joined by drummer Trym Torsson, they did their first demo in the summer of 1992.
