There are multiple artists named Umberto. 1. Umberto is actually a one-man band, that man being Matt Hill, live collaborator / touring member of Expo '70. While Expo '70 has proven to be especially adept at channelling the heavy kosmiche bliss of prime '70s krautrock a la Klaus Schulze, Tangerine Dream and Ash Ra Tempel, Umberto is equally savvy at conjuring the dark, suspenseful soundtrack-y sounds of Goblin and the like. With, some cosmic Klaus-y krauty-ness thrown in as well. http://www.myspace.com/carmichaelvoorhees
Instrumental Tourist, by Tim Hecker and Daniel Lopatin (Oneohtrix Point Never), is the first chapter of SSTUDIOS (Software Studio Series), a new venture in the Software Recording Co.’s expanding catalog. SSTUDIOS invites artists in the field of electronic music to create collaborative works of quality and vision. With a deliberate focus on source material of a synthetic and mimetic nature, Hecker and Lopatin designed a sound palette from the acoustic resonance of digitally-sourced “Instruments of the World.
Bee Mask is the abstract and drone music project of the Cleveland, Ohio, United States native Chris Benedetto Madak. Its established in 2004. Using oscillators built into glass jars, synthesizers, guitar, processing and other methods of electronic experimentation, he brings next level white light sounds similar to, "that of Phill Niblock and Tony Conrad aspects of Ash Ra Tempel." http://bee-mask.tumblr.com
Ian Boddy is one of the UK's leading electronic musicians, helping to pioneer the UK EM scene and continuing to influence it to this day with his diverse approach. Ian's early albums were rhythmic, melodic and tuneful in nature. He has always experimented with different concepts with his music, from live drums and occasional vocals, to unusual ethnic instrumentation and clever use of samples. His more recent work has become more ambient, and also more daring and experimental through a variety of collaborations with influential EM musicians including Ron Boots...
Franco Battiato (born 1945 in Sicily, Italy) is an Italian singer-songwriter, composer, filmmaker and painter.
He is considered one of the most original personalities in italian music from the 1970s to now. Battiato's songs are dreamy, controversial collages of images and sensations, very experimental and convoluted, rich of esoteric, philosophical and East Asian religious themes. His collaborations (from 1994 onward) with the nihilistic-cynical philosopher Manlio Sgalambro have added further depth to his apparently nonsensical lyrics...
Kreidler was founded in 1994 by Thomas Klein, Andreas Reihse, Detlef Weinrich and Stefan Schneider. In 1994 Kreidler released the first of their now 23 outputs, the album Riva. Schneider left only few years later and was replaced by Alexander Paulick. More information can be found at their offical website, ikreidler.de. And also on wikipedia.
There are at least two artists with this name: 1. Pond is an Australian outfit led by two core members of Tame Impala. Pond is free spirited Psychedelic Garage-Glam of the highest order from some very young, very talented 'Perth-onalities'. It all presents an opportunity for the members to change instruments more freely live experiment with recording. Pond is a hard band to pin down, not that you'll want to.
The Resonance Association was formed in 2006 by guitarist Dominic Hemy and multi-instrumentalist/producer Daniel Vincent. Their music is hard to categorise as it varies stylistically between each release. The band's website includes references to "experimental electronica, space rock, EBM, post-rock and progressive rock". The duo have released numerous free EPs, both via mrs.vee recordings and Burning Shed. The Resonance Association Volume One (Aug 2006)
Daniel Vincent is a multi-instrumentalist and producer, who is most commonly known as one half of post-progressive duo The Resonance Association. In 2001 Daniel formed ambient rock band Onion Jack with his brother Pete. When the band disbanded in 2005, Daniel continued to create music as Karma Pilot, and also under his own name in numerous acoustic performances. In 2006 Daniel met guitarist Dominic Hemy and together they formed The Resonance Association, a creative partnership that continues to this day.
