David Cunningham

Since 1993 artist and musician David Cunningham, of The Flying Lizards, has created a continuing series of installation works based on real time exploration of acoustics. 'The Listening Room', Biennale of Sydney (1998) was followed by 2 installation works in "Days Like These", The Tate Triennial of Contemporary British Art, Tate Britain 2003 and subsequent installations at ICC Tokyo, Ikon Birmingham and Camden Arts Centre London.

Damascus

There is more than one Damascus on last.fm. 1. Damascus is an ambient instrumental metal band from New Jersey. Their debut album "Salutations, Distant Satellite!" was released in May 2011. A second ep, "Of Whom I Always Think", was independently released by the band on October 1st. A third, drone-based release entitled "prière d'espoir", was released on 7th November, 2012. 2. Damascus was a classic NWOBHM band based in Merseyside. They released the rare 'Open Your Eyes' 12" EP and a demo in 1984.

Komputer is the project of two London-based synth-meisters: Simon Leonard and David Baker, releasing on Mute Records. The duo have been writing, mixing and producing together for over 25 years, formerly in I Start Counting & Fortran 5. Their new album is Synthetik. Their sound is rigorously electronic and their tracks deal with such diverse subjects as: Russian cosmonauts, rubbish compactors and mobile phone ringtones. Musical antecedents and influences include Kraftwerk, Giorgio Moroder, Syd Barrett and Brian Eno.

Don Byron

Don Byron (b.1958) is a U.S. composer and clarinettist. While he is considered a jazz musician, he is stylistically very adventurous, having recorded klezmer music, German lieder, and cartoon music. Byron was born on 8th November 1958 in the Bronx, New York City and was raised by his parents who were themselves musicians, his mother a pianist; his father a bass player for calypso bands. His parents raised him listening to all kinds of music, taking him on trips to the ballet and the symphony, and also exposing him to jazz such as Dizzy Gillespie and Miles Davis records.

The Velvelettes

The Velvelettes were a 60's femal vocal group founded in 1961 by sisters Carolyn and Millie Gill with cousins Bertha Barbee-McNeal and Norma Barbee (both from Flint, Michigan) on the Western Michigan University campus, where they were students. The group signed to Motown Records, but weren't given top priority, as other female vocal groups were attracting audiences and recording hits. While the group awaited their chance at stardom, they recorded backing vocals for more established Motown girl groups, including The Marvelettes, Martha & The Vandellas, and The Supremes.

Marta Topferova

Marta started singing at age eight in her native Prague, Czech Republic with the Mládí choir. Upon moving to the US in 1987, she continued her vocal and music studies with The Seattle Girls' Choir. At an early age, she sang in many different languages including Latin, German, Spanish, French, Russian, Finnish and Czech, as well as a wide range of works by Johannes Brahms, Joseph Haydn, Francis Poulenc and Giovanni Battista Pergolesi to name a few.

Cry Wolf

There is more than one artist with this name: 1) A melodic hard rock band from the San Francisco Bay Area, originally named Heroes formed in the mid ‘80’s with Tim Hall (vocals), Steve McKnight (guitar), Phil Deckard (bass), John Freixas (drums) and JC Crampton (Keyboards). 2) An American indie-electronic duo formed in 2010 in Raleigh, North Carolina, comprised of members Justin Phillips and Johnluke Lewis, known for their unique mix of Dub-step and Indie music.

There are at least two artists with this name. 1) M.E.D. aka Medaphoar is a MC who has recorded with Madlib, Wildchild, and Oh No. M.E.D's debut album was released on Stones Throw Records in 2005. Entitled Push Comes To Shove, the album features production from Madlib, J Dilla, Oh No (Madlib's younger brother), and Just Blaze. A CD entitled "Bang Ya Head" was released during Stones Throw's 2005 Tour and features M.E.D (known as Medaphoar) guest spots from 1998 to 2005.
M.E.D. made a dis track toward Canibus called "Lightwork."
